Re: 2 for 1 Part II...
Yesterday, I came home and put the interior back together. Not 100% complete or show quality work, but very nice for a DD. I had one of the clips for the window crank go flying off while trying to put it back in the handle. I need to get one on the way home today. Still need to do the seat belts and the arm rests on the door panels, but I think it turned out nice and it is very comfortable.
It needs a tilt column to be very comfortable to get in and out of for me, but that might just have to wait. II put in new weather stripping in the doors and window tracks. The windows are nice and tight in the new felts and the doors shut well. Big difference from where I started: Now, I just got to get the speedo to read correctly, add a rearview mirror, and get an electrical issue on the turn signals and park lights worked out and it will be ready for the road...

Re: 2 for 1 Part II...
I got the truck inspected on Saturday and registered yesterday. I have been driving it around town and it seems to be a good driver. I have a few issues to work out. The worst one is a BAD vibration above 55 mph. I have not had the rear tires balanced since they were on Sunburn, so that will be the first thing to try. I checked the drive line angles when I did the flip on the rear axles, but I did not have the drive shaft to verify the working angles of the u-joints. This weekend I plan to get it up in the air so that I can check the angles again and correct anything that is out of wack.

Re: 2 for 1 Part II...
Sure did Liltroy..
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=651699 Your looks like a Blazer or Suburban sender/tank. Yours is easy. just cut off the two fittings on those lines, slide the nut back as far as you can and cut just the flared end off. remove the nuts and replace with the fittings: The fittings I used are: Jegs 3/8” tube to -6 Male AN Fitting (#100551) Earl’s 5/16” tube to -6 Male AN Fitting (#165056) I used one Earl’s and one Jegs because of cost, I saved a few bucks & Jegs did not have the 5/16” fitting (the Earl’s 3/8” tube to -6 Male AN Fitting is PN#165006, if you have to have both fittings the same brand). I got these thru Amazon.com.

Re: 2 for 1 Part II...
Thanks for the info Aggie. Yep, I'm doing a 25 gallon blazer tank swap. Great writeup btw! However, after researching this all day(I didnt know you had replied already, lol)it turns out that Russell has come to the rescue for me.I just found out they now make these http://www.summitracing.com/parts/rus-640610, http://www.summitracing.com/parts/rus-640600 to adapt inverted flare fittings such as mine to AN fittings without having to do any cutting. I just ordered these up along with the rest of my fuel system goodies. I'm gonna try these first and if for some reason they dont work, I'm sending them back and definately doing it your way.....which, btw, is alot prettier.

Re: 2 for 1 Part II...
I'd like to see how those fitting look. That would be the easy way out for those senders that have the inverted flare fittings....

Re: 2 for 1 Part II...
Figure I will post a quick update here.
Most of the vibration I had is from bad pinion angle. Got that fixed and there is still a small bit, so I had the rear wheels rebalanced. Turns out one of them is ever so slightly bent that you can see it when it was on the balancer. Anyway, drove it quite a few times to and from work, it turned out nice. Very comfortable. For Korbin's 18th birthday, I gave this truck to him since this is really what he wanted for a driver. Like Sunburn, but just not as nice. He has not really done anything with it except drive it and had to replace the master cylinder. He is having a 12 bolt rear built up with 4.10 gears and an Eaton Limited slip so once that is in, he will have the exact drivetrain that was in Sunburn before the accident. The only things different from the chassis set up on Sunburn to this one will be the Corvette brakes, The No Limit rack and pinion, the PBFab Forward Arms, and the Addco Sway bar. He is planning to set up the AC and get it working hopefully over the next month or so. I will see if I can get him to post up on here as he puts his touches on White Trash.

Re: 2 for 1 Part II...
I had to go back and look as to what "box" you where referring too. The plywood came from a box that had some of the gears we machine in house for the wheel driver gear box for the large wheel loaders we build in Longview.

Re: 2 for 1 Part II...
Korbin is in the process of putting in the 12 bolt with the 4:10 gears today. He pulled the cover off the 10 bolt to check the gears, it had 2.73's in it when I thought it had 3.73's. That finally answers the question as to why the speedo was so off.
He had taken it to the drag strip over in Gillam, LA. It was a dog off the line but went thru the traps at 95 mph. He also said it was happiest on the highway at about 90...The 2.73's explain a lot on why it was a dog off the line... I think he is going to want to switch to 3.73's once he starts going back and forth to Kilgore for classes in the fall. I have a set so its just getting them set up in the rear end to do the swap. We will see what he decides to do...

Re: 2 for 1 Part II...
Korbin has been complaining about a wiggle/vibration driving down the highway. Spent some time helping him figure it out last night.
Found the problem. The 12 bolt he just swapped in with the 4:10 gears has a bent right side axle. It is bent at the flange. We are headed to the junk yard this weekend to find a used replacement till he can afford a set of Moser axles. He came home with this on the back of White Trash the other night: What do you guys think?
