Re: 1960 chevy parkwood wagon!

Very nice, Love the old wagons, that's all we ever had when the kids were small. I have a Suburban now which is a more modern version of a wagon I guess.

I have those same manifolds on my truck and want to route my wires like that but some of my wires are not long enough. What application should I ask for to get a set of wires like those, or did you assemble them yourself?

Re: 1960 chevy parkwood wagon!

Thanks for taking a look. The wires I used were a moroso set designed for under header application. They seem very nice. I will look up the part number later today. I have also heard that a 75 corvette application will be the correct length.

Where did you get the clips for the wires? I like that, really clean.

Got the vintage air unit installed, all the vents installed, wired up. Condenser kit installed and hoses run. Now just needs the compressor mounted and the ac hoses cut and crimped. I love this stuff

Mounted the dakota digitals gauges in the housings. Looks great. ALso found a perfect spot for the dakota digital cruise box to sit behind the gauges. So all you will see of the cruise is the switch stalk and a single cable coming out of the firewall to carb.

Re: 1960 chevy parkwood wagon!

Had a friend come over tonight and help me install the engine and trans. I am loving how it is looking. Went ahead and fired up the air ride and had to take a look at it all the way aired out and up. These are huge motivation pictures for me. It shouldnt be too long before it runs.

Looking great! Keep at it. I got to bump the key over on the car last night and hear it crank for the first time in months. That alone was motivation!

Re: 1960 chevy parkwood wagon!

Installed the accessories, fuel pump, carb and mocked up the air cleaner. I cant decide if i am going to paint the air cleaner housing or not because it still has that orange writing on it. STarted laying out the engine wiring and ran out of propane in the heater so i had to call it a night.

Everything else looks so good, seems a shame not to paint it. Just my .02. Either way, great ride.

Thanks! I think I will try taping the writing and spray the rest. I can always redo it at another time.

Thanks!
I see you are in Indy. I have some friends that live there. I will have this car at the beatersville show here in town. Plus it will be on the complete power tour.

Re: 1960 chevy parkwood wagon!

I would check with the Impala restoration parts places like Late Great, Year One, or Classic Industries, and see if they carry a water slide decal or a vinyl mask. The Impala restoration guys are super meticulous and I can almost guarantee that somebody carries that decal.

You gotta paint the air cleaner. Everything you've done so far looks too nice, and every time you pop the hood, you'll be happy you did.

That's a good idea. I will have to see if I can get a repo sticker or something

Re: 1960 chevy parkwood wagon!

I used to have a vinyl plotter and I could scan and cut stuff like that at my last job. It was pretty slick and something like that wouldn't have been very pricey.

Re: 1960 chevy parkwood wagon!

Been progressing along. Lots more wiring with the aaw wiring kit. I love how the kit is setup but it does take some time to get everything laid out and crimped.

I bought an ac hose crimp tool so i dont have to take the hoses all back out which involves removing the heater box again on this car. SHould have bought this tool on the first vintage air job i did. Took no time at all to crimp the ends.
