In the past week between other jobs, Dad painted and installed new weatherstripping on the vent window assemblies.

Re: 1970 Chevy C10 pickup

Took us a little bit but we were able to get the engine cleaned up and painted. The engine came out of IronCanine's old 1970 Blazer. It is a 350. The old man did pretty good on the paint. We installed a new oil pump and timing chain to be safe along with new gaskets. We have 10 weeks to get it all done.

Dang. That looks good. Though I'm a little more worried about the Wo than the Go for this 16 y/o with a Y chromosome. Looking forward to the power brake set up. #igottasharetheroadwiththisone

Re: 1970 Chevy C10 pickup

Decided that I want to go with a satin black paint job with a blue interior. Going to use black wheels with blue or silver inserts.

I don't want to be a stick in the mud but...why? With all the work you and your dad put in it. It deserves a shine. That's just my opinion. It's your truck and you're allowed to make it your way.

I want it to have an overall mean look to it. That is what made me decide to go with Satin Black.

AGREED!!!! You should listen to your elders on this one. You need something you can wax. Your main job once this thing is done is to try and wash the paint off. It's a sign of respect. Furthermore, there are a lot of very mean things that are shiny....for example: snakes. Don't be a time stamp. Make something timeless...trust me, I'm old enough to be right.

It is just a color, which I can change in the future. As long as he keeps his interest in it I'm happy.

You're a good dad. ....Hey one good thing about flat black...he'll be able to wash it with a scrub brush, right?

Re: 1970 Chevy C10 pickup

I am finally able to post pictures now. Dad painted the inside of the cab last week. The color is called "Blue me Away." It is a 2017 camaro color. I really like how it turned out.

Dad was also able to paint the firewall as well as the door jams today. We decided that they were going to be blue as well.

Yesterday, we installed some insulation inside of the cab and Dad was able to paint the top of the dash satin black.
