Well, some of my white found it’s way to my gray on the inside of the doors. Couldn’t take it so doors are back off today and fixing my mess up. FedEx showed up with yet another LMC order. Now off to the in-laws to help with a project there

Haha, thanks 88Stanger! I am loving just walking into the garage to stare at it. Did a little more today, I will post my progress.

So today was a step backwards before I could move forward. The first pint of paint I purchased did not match the gallon I purchased. The grill was just a little off so I pulled the grill and re-painted. Got the grill back on. Mounted some door handles and started to put windows back in.

This is that stage where the excitement really starts to kick in and it is hard to not work on it.

Not sure what to do.....
So I replaced all the felts in the doors and then placed the side windows back in. Went to roll them up and LMC's felts that clip on he door keep the windows from rolling all the way up. I then started doing research and seen this is a common problem, why a company doesn't fix there product is beyond me! So I thought I had the solution, had two new windows cut just a little longer, expensive fix but thought it would work. Well the new glass is too thick and the glass has to be forced to go up and down.

Guess back to square one. If anyone has a magic trick up their sleeve feel free to throw it my way.

Wow that sucks. New glass cut longer is the ultimate solution as far as I'm concerned. When I did my truck I pinched the bottom glass channel until the glass just fit in. I glued the glass into the channel with windshield urethane. I got the urethane for nothing from a local shop. If you go at the end of the work day they will give you a part tube because it will usually go hard over night anyway. My window still hits the felts but will pass with a little force on the handle.

What I did was bend outward the inner and outer flanges that the felts plug into, this allows the windows to roll all the way up. Also make sure you install the lower window bumper.

Someone else on this forum posted it, it works. But since you've already painted be careful on the outside door if you use a small crescent - too much and you will dimple the door skin.

Yeah, I was thinking through that and how I could do it without damaging what I have already done.

I also had to bend my flanges out. It works fine now and definitely keeps the window from rattling. Doesn't wipe the window well because it doesn't contact the glass well, but I'm not as concerned about that

Figured out the windows after several hours or removing, installing, removing, installing, adjusting and so on but they roll up and down smoothly with only one sorta tight spot on the passenger window but not bad. Got the door panels on and we took her out for a quick drive to see how she runs.

The new 5 speed shifts sooo much smoother and will be super fun to run through the gears. Amazing how some window felts and door seals will make a cab rattle a lot less than what I remember driving this thing to high school. A little breezy with no windshield or rear window but all in the works.

Need to figure out the seat mounts still. Got a seat out of a 78 and need to mount it. Once I have that figured out, off to the upholstery shop.

The new window seals and such made a world of difference for my truck too!

On the pictures, it most likely comes from the way you are holding your phone to take them. What works best for me is to have my phone with the bottom in my right hand, top in my left, and the left side of the screen pointed towards the ground. I do it that way so I can post directly from my phone instead of having to open the picture in an editing application on my laptop to rotate it

It's been almost 6 months. Have you managed to find any time to work on this '63?

I have finished up a couple little things. I should have ordered a windshield 6 months ago! Wow 675$ to get it to my doorstep. Ouch! And that was the second one. The first one was shattered when I received it.?Got the rubber seal on, now waiting for warm weather to fight the windshield in. Got the back window in though.

I have started body work on the bed but have realized I either need a patch panel or just the whole left bedside. Things have slowed a little but hopefully I can get busy with it more!

Back at it! Well I pulled the bed into the shop a while ago to start on it and it took me a minute to get to it but here is a couple pictures of the start. I have to go out and take some updated pictures (soon to come). I honestly thought I was going to have to order at least the left bedside. I didn't think I could straighten some of the mess out in a million years but I think I have it looking decent. Again in the pictures to come.

Lots of dent pulling, hammering, welding up holes and several prayers! but I think it is coming together.

Finally! My chrome trim came in. I had to order from a different company but after a year on backorder from LMC I found some. I was also able to get the windshield and rear window in. The cab is complete, haha minus a lot of interior work and the front bumper. But the bumper is ready to be painted and when I paint the white stripe down the bed it will get its new paint as well.

The windshield was an interesting deal. A couple years ago I could have gotten one to my doorstep for around 250$ haha 700$ and sending one back that showed up shattered I finally have one. And its actual OEM thickness.

Well here she is. Can't wait to lay some paint on the bed so I can get it put back together.
