Any new updates since you've stripped it down to the frame?

Weird anyone know a place i can get the whole shabang?!?!? Also if anyone can give me thier opinion i would gladly accept any and all comments ive seen some nice a$$ trucks here guys nice job!!! I hope i can put various stages of my project here too...does anyone have some clear pictures of the vacumm lines set up on a std 350 engine? Re: How about some pics of 73-87 Long Beds?

This is my '85 Chevy Custom 10.It was my uncle's,but,he passed away in 2002,and the truck just sat for 7 years.
Finally, because I hate seeing trucks just rust away,I asked my Aunt Ruth about it. She told me no-one in the family wanted it.When I asked how much to buy it,she pulled the keys & title out of a drawer, and said "If you take me to the DMV,you can HAVE it!" It took us about 5 inutes to get there!!
My uncle ALWAYS took care of his truck, and I intend to restore it.I will swap the engine for the 350(305 in it),and as you can see,I put lights in the rear bumper,as back-up lamps ,and camoed the dash & insert.I hated trying to see in the dark,so I added lamps, and a switch,to the topper.

Just purchased this from a friend about a week ago. It certainly needs work but mechanically this truck runs great. Aka Big Bird

Re: How about some pics of 73-87 Long Beds?

Here's my 1981 Chevy K20 Scottsdale. Picked it up for 500 bucks.

When I first got it

After a little bit of work. New front calipers, pads, brake lines, and a coat of primer and 2 coats of paint on the wheels. Still needs rear brakes, and brake lines.

I'm in love with this '81. Can I have it? LOL

Honestly though, other than the obvious body cancer, she looks like a damn good and clean truck.

Thanks! It definitely needs some body panels, but it has 157,000 miles on it, has 2 year old gas in it, and leaks a lot of oil but I can just reach in the cab and turn the key and it fires right up! What surprised me was the shape the interior is in. Obviously there is a rip in the seat on the drivers side, but the dash looks brand new, and nothing is missing

It's going to be my daily driver to work for a while, and eventually I want to do a 6 inch lift with 35s. Or maybe just leave it like it is and replace the metal

74 Camper Special, 350/350 TH, NP203 Full Time 4X4, dual tanks. 8,200GVW. I Bought it three years ago for $300, it needed a flywheel, ignition switch and an exhaust valve. I love it!

I guess you know you can go to jail for this. Stealing a truck is a crime. Great buy.

Wow, 15K miles. I have a 1986 GMC that is similar that I posted in "show and tell" here back about post #1180 quite a while ago when it had 38K miles. I thought I had a low mileage truck. Not compared to yours!!!! I have finally gotten to the point I really need to sell it with 39K original miles to make more space and started thumbing through here. I guess when I place my add I need to state "high mileage" at 39K original miles. Wow. I wish I had more space to store mine, but when I put it in the back of the hangar with 3 aircraft it is a hassle to get it out just to drive around every once in a while, so it gets neglected. It will probably still be a better truck in another 10 years than my '11 Suburban when all the creature comfort electrical and electronic crap starts failing. Thanks for sharing with us. They just do not make trucks like this anymore, I guess they are only original once in their life.
