Yeah the cut for lock and window is kind of bigger than the switch's so they keep moving around. I get different door panels later when i redo my interior.

Re: Finally "Silvers" build thread!! ('78 swb 2wd silverado)

i was going to try and use the plastic piece but i broke it into pieces on Billy's drill press. so i went with the back up plan and drilled the holes on the metal bezel part 2 5/8. nice tight perfect fit so far. im now cutting out the back of the white plastic part of the bezel so i can bolt the black piece with the gauges on. then i'll put the bezel on and start taking off a little at a time till i can see the full view of the gauges. and hope the glass on the gauges is mashed against the bezels holes. if not ill shim them up some how. im trying to do this without glueing anything and everything will come apart just like the factory would have done it it should turn out sweet!

Why dont you buy the billet aluminum cover for the gauges and use that. That is what I am using and it looks sick. I will post a pic of mine when I get home. But heres a pic of what mine looks like.

First of all, DICK, this question was for breeze85cten on page 71 of this build. So no such thing had happened yet, second of all I didn't read through the thread further enough to find out like you claim I did, ASSumer!!! Cant stand people like you.

i want them to angle up a little. that looks sweet but i'm going for something a little less racy looking. and more factory but classy looking.

Re: Finally "Silvers" build thread!! ('78 swb 2wd silverado)

I think the smaller gauges will look just right in there. The others that I have seen done the guys have grinded off the back of the stock bezel so that the larger ones will be seen better. Going with the smaller gauges will accomplish the same thing though. I think it will look sweet in there man!
