Gotcha. What angle do you have at the middle joint (in between the front and rear drive shaft? Theoretically, you want around zero at the transmission to the first shaft and and then 3 or less at the between the first shaft to the second shaft and the opposite from the second shaft to the differential. That's what the guy at the drive line shop told me anyway. My 2 rear angles were good but my angle at the transmission was way out. The only way to make it correct was to raise the transmission (low transmission hump). Unfortunately there wasn't any room to do that. So the only option at that point was the double CARDAN joint. It allows for the angles to be off and helps prevent vibrations. Hope this was somewhat clear. Let me know if you have any other questions.

So hows it performing?

So far so good! I haven't put a lot of miles on it yet as I'm still data-logging and playing with the tune, but the drive train seems pretty smooth. I do need some new shocks and will be purchasing some Ridetech HQs pretty soon.

So how's it going now? I'm curious how all the soundproofing worked out as well as the tuning.

Hey Rob, I'm towing the camper to Destin today for the week of Thanksgiving. Any suggestions on "must see" things in that area?

So far so good. I still need to finish the rear panels and carpet, but it is MUCH more quiet than the gold supercharged truck.....

Sorry Jeff, I missed this and hope you had a good time down there.

That trim is awesome! Did you do it? Someone needs to make tail gate bands like them and sell them IMO.

Personally disappointed. I believe this truck should have won by all means. We get the vote split many times because guys vote for pickups and blazers because that’s what they prefer.

The truck that won is an amazing ride for sure. And even though the forum has evolved to include every Chevy truck under the sun since I first signed on, its still hard for me to get that a 1958 is truck of the year on 67-72chevytrucks.com
