Re: What did you do to your truck today!
the temp was sitting at 06 Degrees F outside this morning I went out and looked at it and came back in the house. It is supposed to be above freezing tomorrow and I'll pull the starter and rebuild it then.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
Pushed my '70 from it's 5 year parking spot behind my house and in front of my garage, spent the day chasing down parts for my cobbled up exhaust system, installed headers, exhaust and mufflers. It was 9 pm when I finally finished. Tomorrow I hope it starts, cause I want to drive it to the Legends get-together,...

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
Scored some great parts from otsenre. What a great guy! While I was talking with him met another forum member 454Stepside. What a great bunch of guys we have on this forum. I scored a clean 68 grill w/ stainless loops and light buckets, front bumper with brackets, and some small parts fro 180.00 from otsenre. Great deal I think. Went down the road a few miles and scored a brand new GM(not repop), rear sport bumper for $55. Then I came home and cleaned all the greasy fingerprints off her.
I think I'll head to the package store for some adult beverages.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
Drove my 70 swb stepper about 150 miles today. Put new sun visor in. Got a new insterment panel out of a 2 and a half ton 70 grain truck wich has tach in it and thats where i got the visors from. Also cut the back bumper off today becouse someone welded a 80's bumper to the frame. Looks 10 times better now. Also installed a cd player in my truck to day. It was a good day.

Fuel sending unit, spark plugs, and found a new grinding noise under the hood. I think it is water pump bearings.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
Fabbed up some steel lines and rubber hoses and reconnected the fuel lines (with a filter now, it had none before) and vacuum advance line in the engine compartment. Installed a new air filter. Fiddled with the idle mixture and speed and drove it up and down the street a few times. No noticeable leaks or gas smell; this is always a good thing.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
Well Sunday morning I installed my new front suspension. I installed new upper and lower control arms, air bags and new 2" dropped spindles all from CPP. I also got the rear end re-installed with new trailing arms and drilled and slotted rotors and new posi unit etc. Also got my new wheels from Race Line with new BFG KDA's. I will post some pictures in the next days or so. Hoping to get the new LS3 installed this next weekend!
Pictures are posted in my album Last edited by nick martorano; 03-01-2011 at 12:27 AM. |

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
I drove it to the body shop thats going to do my rust repair to get my parts list in order and bought a perfect original Fleetside tailgate to go on it when its time. Now I have a spare if something happens later on down the road. Looks like my truck will be rust free very soon.
