Re: What did you do to your truck today!
Got the engine back in and running Tuesday night, took it for about a mile ride and put it back in the shop. Wednesday, took the complete rearend out, trailing arms, shocks and springs, and trailing arm crossmember. Today, I mock it all back up with the Porterbuilt crossmember and trailing arms, figure the coil-over shock mounting setup, make a template for the C-notch, and get stuff ready for powdercoating! That's about it!

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
It's cold around here. I just stopped by the shop for a minute (at my daughter and son-in-law's place around the corner)
and installed the new air cleaner the Little Woman gave me for Hallmark Valentine's Day. It's coming along. Another six or ten years, I should be done.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
It looks like Slick67 and I have the same headers. I got mine when I bought the truck and an extra cab as a "pile 'o parts". So I don't know the brand. I DO know, with my set up, I had to notch the frame just a tad for clearance.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
Installed the front sway bar with ECE drop mounts and polygraphite bushings. Very nice and easy with TXfirefighers FAQ. Worked on the rear drums. Got one side done. I will finish up the other side tomorrow. Then I will be done with these PITA drum brakes.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
Finished the rear brakes, buttoned her up and drove her down to the local shop for a full alignment. My two boys drove with me and they loved it. It really does handle 100% better with the new springs and a swaybar.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
pulled the bench seat out so i could look at the gas tank so i know what line i need to modify for my tpi conversion and make room for my buddy buckets that will be going back in. i also siphoned off about 4 gallons of gas to put in my tahoe since its running a tad low. here's a photo of the driver's floor pan. also can anyone tell me what these lines do or what they are for??

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
Finished welding up the c-notch, and boxing that rear section.Welded lower coil-over shock mounts to the rearend, and installed top crossmember and upper shock tabs. Realized I'm going to have to modify Porterbuilt crossmember for driveshaft clearance. That's it for today.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
I buttoned up the rear end cover and added new oil (pics 1/14 before, 2/26 after). I've been able to determine that I have an Eaton H052 with a 4.10 gear ratio mostly by searching the Forum archives. One good thing about leaks, they act as an excellent applier of rust preventative to external surfaces.
Then I installed a new shock absorber on the passenger side cuz I had left it for later and later was today. Then I put 2 1/2 gallons of gas in the tank. Then I installed a new PCV valve and cleaned out the flame arrestor and crankcase vent hoses. Then I found all the air cleaner parts I had stored away and cleaned them. Then I washed away most of the crud around the fuel pump and removed all the mickeymouse fuel lines from the outlet of the line from the tank to the carb. I found no fuel filter, kinked steel lines, swollen rubber, patchwork hose clamps and so on and so forth.
