Re: Patina, shop logo'd, rusty trucks?
Thanks!
I'm seeing the light at the end of my 2 year build tunnel. Very ready to have it going as a daily. I picked it up at the Texas / Mexico border. The body panels and frame are the same but just about every other part has been replaced. Now if I can just get the EFI sorted out well enough to depend on it.

Re: Patina, shop logo'd, rusty trucks?
Not mine, saw it a while back at a local shop. It's gone now. I would have been interested in buying it if it had been a short bed!

Re: Patina, shop logo'd, rusty trucks?
Years ago nobody did longbed 1/2 tons for anything but a truck, couldn't hardly give them away. A buddy of mine had a very nice '70 LWB back then and got crap about it all the time, he just wanted something different as we all had shortbeds. Now I hear alot of the younger generation say they like 'em long and low, at first I thought they were in denial for not being able to obtain a short but that is not the case. For me personally I prefer shortbeds but the longs have really come around, I see a lot of nicely done longbeds. Whatever your preference more power to ya.

Re: Patina, shop logo'd, rusty trucks?
That actually was a legitimate factory-supplied Indy Safety Truck though. That was the year the official pace car was a similarly decorated Pontiac T/A with the 403ci Turbocharged power (and NO stick, which Indy was upset about) and an ASC top conversion...I think it was a convertible conversion but it may have been a T-top. Two more cars were supplied as safety cars, with standard tops and non-turbo'd 403s, which is what the factory replicas also came with. The truck replicas were, as you can imagine, more desirable than the T/A replicas. I remember the actual pace car was sold through Hemming's a couple years ago after a lot of accusations and investigation into its legitimacy. Still, it was the era of the Bandit popularity, and the "Hood Chicken" ruled the upset stomachs of those who wished for performance.

Re: Patina, shop logo'd, rusty trucks?
Thats one I would love to own.
Actually it is a rare truck produced by GM. They built a large fleet of them for support trucks at Daytona, and followed up with a limited production run available to the public. Sometimes its better to listen and learn....

I know It's not a 67-72, but the signage came out pretty decent on my kids truck...
