Good to hear the bed is on the way and you got some trim.

(Just throwing this out there.I vote for hugger orange or light blue.! )

Thanks, I feel like I haven't got much done to it since I got it in my garage. I have been to busy trying to outfit my garage with tools to work on it. We are almost about to start the bodywork to smooth the panels out for paint, so hopefully there will be color soon

Thanks Al, me too. Have to get a few more things done in the garage and then I will really be able to work on it. Just got my air compressor and some air tools, have to get the compressor wired in and go to work.

Thanks Tom, I still have a few months to figure the color out. Hey if you come across a nice rust free tailgate in the Tri-state area please let me know.

Hopefully there will be paint in a couple of months. I would like to have this truck painted by summer. I can't wait for the bed to come in, it's the last piece of the puzzle to make it look like a truck again.

Ha! I never realized the red truck in your 1st post was yours. I started my build 2 yrs ago and I printed off a lot of trucks off this site and put them up on a set of lockers in my garage for inspiration/motivation. Over time, I've changed some out but your red one has always stayed. Looked super clean.
I love the 67-68 trim on slammed trucks. It's going to look sick with your wheels.

Thanks Daniel, yeah that was a really nice truck but unfortunately I sold it about 5 years ago because I needed the money. I wish I could have kept it but oh well that's life. Funny thing is the guy I sold it to has been trying to sell it back to me for the past 2 years but I have to much money wrapped up in this 68 and can't afford to buy the 72 back. I just can't wait to get this 68 done so I can get over selling the 72.

Thanks, I actually bought the trim off a board member that bought it new from Mar-K but never used it. No body wants to see that dirty old motor anyway and don't worry I'll post many more pics of the wheels but after I get the bed on

Yeah I'm excited to get the bed, just crossing my fingers that everything comes in damage free. Haven't bought any paint supplies yet, still trying to figure out what I want I know I know I can't make a decision.

Yeah I have thought about it but with Satin Blue and Satin White combo. I'm not a fan of the original Dark Blue in shiney paint for some reason.

Looking good!

I know all to well about outfitting the garage. I swear I'm going to have more time and money in tools, benches and garage stuff then I will the truck build.

Heck since owning the two trucks in the past 6 months I've rearranged the garage at least a dozen times.

The good thing about collecting tools and garage stuff is that you'll be able to use them again on other projects. Sometimes projects that aren't truck/car related too. I love tools almost as much as classics!

It's nice to see parts coming in. Can't wait to see the bed together with those shiny wheels!

503 green in patina is my favorite but as new paint I don't like it so I know how you feel.

Congrats on the new parts Keith.

503 Green would look cool.
(But i think any 67-72 color, would look good on your truck.! )

I will keep my eye open for a tailgate for you.

Yeah I have spent over a $1000.00 in the past couple of weeks on tools and a new air compressor. I had nothing besides a starter craftsman tool set and now I have all types if things lol.

Yeah I feel the same way about 503 green. It just looks awesome in patina but I don't like it as much when it is glossy.

Thanks Tom, if I don't find a tailgate by the end of April after all the swap meets then I'll just order a new one.

Thanks Scott, yeah I'm going to give it the ole college try the compressor is a 60 gallon Industrial Air. I got major sticker shock when I was looking at compressors. I can't believe how much they cost, this one should be good enough for me. Still have to get it wired in and setup.

Yeah I'll be busy just about every weekend from here on out lately I have been putting in a couple hours here and a couple there during the week. I love that I can tinker on it whenever I want now. My wife even told me today that she loves that my truck is home cause I'm a lot happier and not so stressed over it anymore.
