Also figured while I'm in a picture posting mood... I picked up this United Delco (AC Delco) shop cabinet a couple days ago.. This is my second Delco cabinet now. Love getting vintage stuff like this for the garage.

I bought the Imperial 470-FH triple head tubing bender. It's pretty nice, the test bends I did came out pretty nice I think. I agree can't beat vintage garage or shop stuff!

So yesterday I decided to use the factory battery cables that came with my motor because it looked like nice beefy cable compared to what you can buy at your local auto parts store. So I trimmed them to a length I needed and put new ends on them and I got them all tucked away from the headers and the TCU power and ground wires ran to them and it was ready to be hooked up to the battery. So I figured it would be a good time to check all the wiring work I've done for the new electronics and I also figured it would be a good time to put oil in the motor and build some oil PSI. So I got it all hooked up and the wiring was fine. So I turned the motor over for 10 seconds, and then did it a couple more times and my gauge never read any oil PSI... I started to get worried.. so I went inside thought about different causes, what Im doing and if it may be wrong and I also researched online about it. A lot of guys pull the spark plugs and serp belt and then turn it over for 25-30 seconds. So I did just that and I got a reading, the gauge read half way which I believe our gauges are either 0-30-60 or they are 0-40-80 so either way I got 30-40 psi so I'm happy about that. Feels good to see the truck do something after it's been dead for almost 6 months. I was checking the tracking for the intake this morning and it showed it was in Ceres CA (which is the last stop my UPS packages make and then they get sent out for delivery) and so I figured since it was before the time the truck leaves I would get it today. However they never updated it saying that it went out for delivery so I'm guessing they didn't want to send it early? Kinda bums me out a little. Then again after waiting 2 months im ridiculously anxious so that's probably what's going on. Anyways we'll see if they feel like there ready to send my intake Monday.

glad you got your oil pressure sorted out. i've had issues with the ups tracking not updating from the ceres location. actually had to go by there once for a time sensitive work delivery, and they were not very helpful. they just said the system isn't always accurate.

Got the intake in today. I got it masked off and painted it. When I went to install it I hand tightened the intake bolts as stated by edelbrock and then I started to torque them down to 11 ft lbs also as stated. There is also a sequence in which to tighten them.. I torqued down the 1st bolt, then I went to torque down the 2nd bolt.. SNAP! ... The bolts supplied by edelbrock are about 1/4" too short.. So what happens is when you go to torque the intake down and "crush" the o ring gaskets the bolt only grabs 2 or 3 threads and it's not enough so it rips the threads out! Supposedly the bolts are a 6mmx1.00x50mm but the bolts aren't even a true 50mm.. So I'm going to see if I can get 10 6mm x55mm length hex flange bolts.. I've been searching online but I'm not really having much luck so we'll see what I can come up with locally. Anyways I have the intake just setting on top of the motor for now and same with the carburetor, (blasphemy I know) and air cleaner... It's nice to finally see my vision come to reality!

More like oh... No.. No no no! *pulled the bolt out to find threads at the bottom* F.... I think you guys no the rest lol. Actually it was a lot like Michael from the show "the office"
 today im going to town to check around for some bolts!

Well I have good news. Finally fired up the motor! I made a gravity feed fuel "system" for the carburetor so I could start it up and hear it run for about 20ish seconds and it ran good! Was smooth and ran consistent. So next up im going to start getting everything I need for the new fuel system and finish the last bits for the cooling system and get the motor side of the swap finished. Hoping the Trans is as good as the motor.. No matter what you do to check stuff before buying it's always a gamble in the end.

Alright my PB trailling arm crossmember, fuel pump, fuel regulator, power steering reservoir(and the hose to connect it to the reservoir) are all on there way in the mail. I bought a new 16" fan and I'm going to wire it up to a thermostat if I can and I have a fuel pressure gauge waiting for the rest of the fuel system parts to show up. Today I planned out how im going to make my fuel system run. I decided to have the fuel line come out of the cab as the factory did only instead have the fuel line go into a 100 micron fuel filter, then over the frame to the outside and into the fuel pump which will be mounted about 5" forward of the rear passenger cab support bracket that's riveted to the frame and then from there it will go through the frame (with a grommet of course) and then it will travel up like the factort ran it to the front passenger side of the motor. How's that sound to you guys? I wanted to also build a cover that encases the pump so water and dirt have a hard time getting as well as nothing can hit the pump directly
