Anyway. After the family has been on the sunday trip in the rainy British countryside the driver (the father usually) says:

Remove your plugs and let the water out
They were all metal, all the same, and look factory. In fact they must be since they were sealed top and bottom. But they're gone now

I usually buy brake cleaner by the case, just be careful of the fluid soaked rags. A few sparks from a grinder or flap disc and you've got real problems.

(not that I'd know anything about that).

Thanks Greg! I like carb cleaner. Don't have to worry about welding fumes from it like you do with brake cleaner (bad things).

Thanks brotha! Don't get me started on NIST... You have a good memory about the gauge system. It's NSX needle actuator in stock Smiths Housings driven by the Acura Cluster PCB... Gauge mayhem starts here And a pic of the final config (actually the tach needle was trimmed to look more like the others after this)

Yes it is cool of the painter. And a great learning opportunity for me. Unbelievable how for the scope of this project has drifted... But it's all fun and will be worth it in the end, whenever that may be...

Frizzle when you say "knock down weld peaks with a flat file" do you mean that you file off the peaks or something else (like a slap file)? Sorry for the elementary questions, just hoping to gain some insight to assist me on my own project.

No problem. I'm filing them down with a flat file.

Martin Tools (MRT1150) Adjustable File... Martin Tools (MRT1150) Adjustable File...
This is the one that I think I will get. If its like the other Martin stuff it should do great. Plus a good price. I have the other Martin tools just don't know how to use them to their full potential yet

Re: '66 Sunbeam Minx Project - F20C/6sp/4-link/Discs...

Coming so far (and I haven't read everything yet), beeing involvet in every detail, (and more is to come, I guess), It's almost like being involved in the whole family. Children has been in the garage. (there are a family?). Have wife or girlfriend being in front of the camera yet?

You have to take away some trees from the property. (Now I am starting to interfere! Not good!) ......and that rifle??

Anyway, the 50+ m.m. rec.counter could fit in the center hole in the middle of the dashboad on my green car. You have tested it and it works ok?

The dolphin tachometer works great. You wouldn't need one that counts to 10,000 RPM, but it will work just fine as long as you have a pulse source to send to it.

You were keen Frizzel to stick with the original colours way back before things progressed to a total body refurb.
Are you still thinking that way now its a full respray?

For anyone interested, this is what's seen leaning against the shop. Good for critters up to about the size of a jack rabbit.

Yes! That rotisserie has been a life saver and will continue to be through blasting and paint. Speaking of which, I just dropped it off at the blaster's place. Will get pics when done. Doors are off now so it's a complete shell.

Benjamin makes a great air rifle. Great for targets and small vermin.

BTW, I need one of those rotisseries too.

the old metal is thicker then that of newer cars so it will resist more to deforming deu to the blasting but still i hope the blaster knows wat he's doing and doesnt introduce too much heat and buckle the metal

The only questionable aspect would be regarding safe handling practices, not ownership.

You think I'm going to trust it to just any blaster after all this work/time..? They use a recycled plastic media, like ground up phones, etc. So there's no risk of deformation from heat.
