I have a great patina short bed step side 72 C10 project. You can build it to be a show truck or clear the patina and drive it like it is. It has a small block 400 and an early GM 80's 4 speed with overdrive transmission. Truck will run and drive but needs some work to be drivable daily, been sitting a while. I currently have the gas tank out. But can drive it around the yard with a portable tank. It has rust in the rockers, floor pans and cab corners. I bought replacement panels but haven't installed them. It has a bench seat out of a 90's Chevy. It was a low option truck from the factory straight 6cyl, no PS, PB or hydraulic clutch. I included a picture of the SPID. This is a short bed original truck.

1969 GMC C1500 350 4-Speed

This 1969 GMC C1500 two-wheel-drive pickup is a factory long-bed wide-side example that has been converted to a short bed by the previous owner. A mechanical refurbishment was performed in June 2023 that included installing a replacement 350ci V8 linked to a four-speed manual transmission. The truck is finished in maroon over tan vinyl and black cloth upholstery with additional equipment that includes 15″ steel wheels, a floor-mounted shifter, DJM Suspension lowering springs and shocks, an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor, an Isky Voodoo camshaft, ram horn exhaust manifolds, an HEI distributor, and a dual exhaust system.

The truck wears faded maroon paint finished with Sweet Patina patina preserver, including the visible seams where the bedsides were shortened. Additional bodywork includes replacing the rocker panels, cab corners, and parts of the floor as well as shortening and notching the frame. Exterior details include a chrome front bumper, dual side mirrors, and a plywood bed floor. The windshield, door mirrors, rear view mirror, armrests, dash pad and seat were replaced in September 2023. The rear wheel bed tubs were replaced with new, 4-inch wider tubs in September. The reverse lights are not wired, the hazard lights are inoperative, and the windshield washer pump is not installed. Rust is noted in the passenger lower door and bedside panel.

Gray 15″ steel wheels feature GMC-branded center caps, mounted with 235/60 BFGoodrich Radial TA tires. Additional equipment includes DJM Suspension lowering springs and shocks, and braking is handled by drums at all four corners. The emergency brake is not installed and corrosion is present on the wheels and hubcaps.

The factory-equipped bench seat is trimmed in tan vinyl and black cloth upholstery. The truck underwent refurbishment in June 2023, to include installing a replacement shift boot, glove box door, carpets, and polished door sill plates as well as replacing the weatherstripping around the doors. The horn, heater box, fan blower motor, and radio have been removed.

The two-spoke steering wheel is cracked and frames a 100-mph speedometer and supplementary gauges for fuel level, alternator output, coolant temperature, and oil pressure. The five-digit mechanical odometer shows 9k miles, a handful of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.
The replacement 350ci V8 was sourced from a later-model truck and features an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor, Edelbrock Performer intake. an Isky Voodoo camshaft, Chevrolet “double hump” cylinder heads, ram horn exhaust manifolds, and an HEI distributor. Services performed in June 2023 include replacing the engine mounts, fuel pump, and battery as well as installing a replacement wiring harness. The oil has been changed in preparation for sale.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission, and a replacement clutch kit. The dual exhaust exits are turned down before the transmission crossmember. The transmission fluid and differential fluid were changed preparation for the sale.

This truck runs and drives great. I bought the truck in 2018 with about 2500 miles on the engine and suspension work. I've had no issues with it. It shows well at local cruises (I won a few trophies)but has some of the typical rust that these old C10s have. The paint is driver quality with a number of chips and scratches. Some rust as seen in the pictures and 2 of the cab braces have some rust that has been treated with Por15. Floors are great. Perfect truck to enjoy the way it is. Everything works including the heat. Gas gauge is a little off. I hate to sell it but I need the cash for something else. I'm firm on the price, no trades.
