Very cool! Let me know if you get her finished in time. I'll definitely be there to check it out if she's gonna be there!

Re: Patina, shop logo'd, rusty trucks?

I've been through this WHOLE thread this weekend trying to draw ideas for the faux-tina I am doing to my Blazer. I started it today and I gotta admit, it looks pretty decent. Pictures in the garage don't do it justice, but I am pleased. The only thing that was scary was pulling a truck out of the paint booth on Saturday and starting to scuff it on Sunday. If the next rendering from the sign shop looks good, then the logo should be done this week. I hope to get it on after the 4th. I haven't seen a logo'd Blazer, so hopefully it is something a little different.

Here is an idea of the look I am going for...

Best job I've seen yet. It's best to not overdo it, and that's exactly what you're keeping in mind

Here's some real patina inspiration. Just took the pic today, since I replaced my drip rail caulk

Re: Patina, shop logo'd, rusty trucks?

My truck has an original patina, but the tailgate didn't match the rest of the truck. So, I figured out how to do a patina look on the tailgate letters. Here's a full write up if you're interested. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...=1#post6143962

Thanks, I had vinyl stencils made. Then painted them with a brush. Then wet sanded with 400. It cut fast so I had to be careful with the sanding. I just used rustoleum paint from the local paint store.

Re: Patina, shop logo'd, rusty trucks?

I started working on mine last Friday. I have not finished the upper fender or the lowers yet. The truck is getting dropped this Weds. I hope to have the paint done this weekend. I run a meat company so I am planning on putting the company logo on the door. I will hand paint it then lightly sand it as well.

Under your logo, you should put the slogan "You can't beat our meat". It sounds like something innocent they would have said back in the day when your truck was new, but it has a funny meaning now lol

Funny you bring that up. I was going to surprise you all with that.
"You may beat our prices....but you will never beat our meats!"

I am putting it on the tailgate.
