Nice!!! I really dig that truck.

There is a thread on here somewhere that seems to have a tiny bit of info on these swaps. A handful of pics too. Not sure if it will be helpful to ya or not, just thought I would throw that out there.....

Yeah, I saw a thread by some guy named Bob or something. You may have seen it too at some point. The thread is "ok" I guess. I mean, if you're into that whole "make it look all factory" and stuff. Whenever I get to the swap I will be reading and re-reading that thread. And probably PM'ing questions left and right too!!! Your thread has been an inspiration toget off my but and do the swap. Thanks alot for the compliments on my truck too.

OMG, no kidding? That's funny as hell!!!

The swap heard 'round the world!

*** Edit - That made me think about something. I went and added to the title of the Fred thread so anyone searching for 5.3L or LS swap info could find it easier.

Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Short Beds

I am trying to work a deal with a fellow member for a 408 inch LS based from a 6.0 Has alot of really nice parts in it. Supposed to be around 550 or so hp to the wheels with a light tune. Funds seem to be drying up around here pretty quick though and it's not looking very promising at all. We'll see what happens. I can give out my paypal addy if anyone wants to make donations.

Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Short Beds

Idont know man, last time I looked at your build thread it looked like someone stole your engine/trans. I may have to hold off on the trade. It isn't looking so good for the LS swap at this time. Work is way too slow. I have some nice Vortec heads, intake, cam kit, 750 carb, etc. that I may throw on this stock shortblock. I found an old magazine build for a stock GM crate motor with the parts I have added and they dyno'd @ 380hp and 400+ torque. It wont be as cool as a LS but should boil the 20s off the back pretty nicely.

pretty ironic! i was thinking of the same thing for my 85 shorty. I have a set of vortec that are machined for 202/160 with 550 lift springs, a crane blue racer cam (488/510), 750 road demon, just need to get an intake. At the same rate i have a complete 496 bbc that i was going to put in my camaro that i could just put in my truck. makes you say hmmmm!!!!

2) edelbrock 1406 leaning help, plugs were black as night and REAKED of fuel, cleaned them and oh wow... it was sweet!
