Finished up the rough body work on the valvecovers, then laid a coat of self-etching primer. That will get a scuff, then filler primer, then some engine orange. I’m really liking the way these are turning out

Thanks a lot, guys! It was a bunch of work for something super subtle, but I am fully STOKED with how these are turning out:

First shot is post-sanded filler primer, prior to final prime, then sexy orange top coat

Keeping ‘em clean. I’ve even thought about painting the wilwood master cylinder cover to hide the logo...

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.
It's like a highly skilled Morrocan sword fighter with a Damascus Steel Scimitar.....

Cubic inches is like Indiana Jones with a cheap pistol.

I feel the 'vintage' appearance of those were used a little earlier than the 70's. A solid grey or black plug wire in 8mm or larger will look fine & get it done w/o the additional expense.

Thanks! I do like those, but also agree with Scoti. My plan is to hide them with coil packs at the rear of the engine and wires routed under the headers. It will be tight, but I’ll see if I can make it work

The Holley intake manifold is cast with only one vacuum port, which will be used for the brake booster. Given that, I was forced to drill and tap a few extra holes to accommodate the manifold absolute pressure (MAP) sensor, which will hide behind the throttle body, and the PCV valve, which just barely fits underneath the plenum floor. The PCV is a mid-60s GM V8 piece that uses 1/4” NPT on one end and a hose barb on the other. The plan is to plumb to the back of the valve covers for a completely hidden system.

I went ahead and mocked up the fuel rails, injectors, and fittings and am happy with the fit of everything. Time to get this thing in some color

YES! YESS!! YESSS!!! This was the absolute right way to go with your truck...I would say the overall design is "understated perfection", like when the most beautiful lady in a modest dress enters the room and all the other wanna be's with goo-gobs of make-up and mini-skirts get mad. I will probably dream about how good it will look with a black air cleaner tonight.

If it turned out you needed a dual snorkel for lack of air, so be it. I have seen others do a similar setup (MetalDoc) and I’m pretty sure it reduced the sound of the rushing air when at WOT. My thought would be to stay on the simple side if you can get away with it. Either way it’ll be great.

Im leaning towards stock appearance, but not. This fits right in. We’ll see how I feel about it when the time avails itself. Right now, there are about a million other things ahead of it on the list...
