now before you bust out the protractors and judge me on symmetry and levelness, let me just say that there aint nothing square to go off of on this truck, nothing identical, nothing congruent... everything is podywhompus, for example the driver side fender does not taper down like the passenger side one does, and in the end this is a 50 foot truck, (looks great from 50 feet away!)

Sorry, missed your comment in the post marathon! Not sure what you mean though?

Note when these brackets were identical, the bumperettes sat crooked, so I had to make the driver side one (on the right in the pic) wonkey to make them straight

Thank you Robert, I am not quite done with it yet, going to mount the license plate between them somehow, we must have a front plate in California and on a lot of cars it just ruins the front facia.

something like that, I am thinking of running a slightly radiused black square tubing behind the split bumpers and all the way across the length of the grille that will be the strength and damage protection but not seen, then attaching the plate in the middle slightly tucked under the nose with a black license plate frame around it, not sure if we are allowed to bend the plate a tad since that nose is so pointy

The extra support/strength will be a plus, and your idea for camouflaging the license will look good. I hope they will let you bend it some.

What I meant was asking about the ends of the cuts on the shiny parts. If you would massage them to be like a corner or just leave them raw.

I've seen bikers bend their plate around a fender. Not sure if it's legal or not.

Gotcha, nope I just radiused them in the middle with the same radius as the ends and called it good

went fishing the other day ...

and scored a black vinyl console, the other center console I got was too wide

I like the basic clean look of this one, an it is a stand alone meaning it was not part of the seat or integrated into the dash as most of them tend to be these days, so no cutting or trimming required

I agree, but this is California and I don't want to give cops any reason to pull me over, ever, the last thing I need is Busty getting impounded

My brother and I went to a concert once about 30 miles away, I had an intermittent problem with one of my '97 Tahoe headlights (I was on some sort of 10 day med routine so I did not drink a drop not a single beer at the concert, meanwhile my bro got plastered) anyway I know I tend to tell stories and exaggerate things a bit, we all do, but we got pulled over 4 times (it was so bad the cops (CHP) were all lined up it was like fishing in a barrel) between the time we left the venue and until we got on the freeway only 1.5 miles away to come home, finally the first cop that pulled us over chased us down and escorted us out of there, he told the others I already pulled them over, just like I kept telling them POLITELY ... and all for a flickering headlight, no joke

I know there are some nice cops out there, but I've still got to meet them, ha ha

thanks, here's a sneak peak for my buddy Rob, with it just resting there

I am going to make a plate to run across the seat riser valley and then mount it down to it with four bolts, that way I can still slide my sling shot under the plate next to the moonshine and other contraband

Nice work on the bumperettes and great find with the Durango console. I have heard of folks using the Durango/Dakota consoles because they were narrow. It looks real good in there.
