Re: Project Vitamin C-10
I've been messing with my 64 too much. I did work on my front end a little. My dash is welded in and mudded. I don't like the squareness of the center part. I'm thinking I'm going to cut a pipe in 1/4 and use that to round off the bottom. Did I tell you my legs hurt.

Looking good Alan. I'm glad that the filler neck mock up went well. I'll get the aluminum tube cut up today.
Also, I've got one of Ron Covell's welding dvd's here at work that I refer to from time to time with the shop guys here, I'll burn you a copy of it.

Re: Project Vitamin C-10
[QUOTE=Alan's Classic;3855478] I've read about people blogging for a living. It takes awhile to get the followers then the advertisements come. I don't know the ins and outs, but will check into it.
I agree. I think the blog idea would be the cheapest route for now until something else better comes along. We will see. Just got to find someone that has a clue about it. Yeah I wonder how that works. Do people have to pay to join the blog? BTW nice work.

Re: Project Vitamin C-10
This the flangeing tool that I used to flange the opening so the new panel will fit flush in the hole. I tried something different by editing the pic and typing on the pic. The fonts were bigger in the edit, but are not showing up as well here. Too much trouble to go back and fix since I over wrote the original pics.
It's hard to see the flanged edges, but they are there. Shannon hooked me up and welded my the new filler tube in. Thanks Shannon. 1.5 hrs today

Looks good Alan. I always save the edit as another file first. I put like -1 after the file.

That fuel door is gonna turn out nice. Keep up the good work buddy. Thanks Heath. It didn't turn out the way I wanted it too looks wise, but at least it'll hold gas I guess. It was a little "tricky" welding 1.5" tube in a 2" hole too.

Got the inlet tube worked out, I think. Get it tacked then figure out the vent. The pipe diameter is 1" at the narrow part. I thought about just getting an 1 1/2" pipe and weld it on where it necks down. Don't know just yet what I will do. 1.0

No progress on my side of the fence tonight. I went over to help Shannon set his cab on his frame. Still in jury duty. They said expect a long day tommorrow 8 a.m.-midnight. Trying not to run into the weekend. I did meet another jury member that had some mouldings and emblems for old chevys. He said he had no use for them and brought them to me today. I saw a couple 3100 emblems in the bucket. I was hoping to get a pic, but ran out of time. Shannon and I did get the 55 running last night. Just have to fine tune the timing and carb adjustment.
