Re: 1968

Dean/ swamp rat you only get one chance in life to show the family that matter. My oldest which is 9 helped me with building a outside swing. (Honey doo) I let him use the cordless drill. with me watching of course. drilling pre holes for the screws on the swing. These boy are what you call special needs children. they have special needs like all boys.
Here is a picture of the swing thus far with out the arm rest. another day and wifey will be happy.

Might be another reason to make your own.

Nice bench, George. Fun working on that stuff with kids.

swamp rat, Kerry, Nick. Started on the arms on the bench seat and something hit me like a ton of bricks. I got so sick, it must have been something I have eaten. I only got one arm done before I called it a day. I enjoyed working with the boys. I will finish it tomorrow.

That was quick. Glad you're feeling better.

Hopefully you don't put cushions on that bench or it will be do comfortable you never get the truck done. looks good, though.

George, when you finish your truck, I bet you'll sit on that swing and stare at it. When I got my truck back together, I used to just sit in the shop and look at it sometimes.

I take breaks all the time. Haven't touched the truck all week. Sometimes other things take priority.

Re: 1968

You can see the finish line George, if that doesn't motivate you nothing will. Where are you at mechanically, are your brakes and steering done? What do you have left to do on the engine and drivetrain?

drive line is 100 % done
brakes is 100 % done
Steering is 100 % done
steering column is 100 % done shifts like a brand new one.
I still need the wiring harness, but that is in the works soon.
exhaust needs to be installed. I will trailer it to a shop and let them do it.
front and rear bumpers needs to be ordered and mounted.

Re: 1968

Are you targeting any particular completion date at this point? I know last year you had a certain event or something in mind. I should come up with one for Mustard. Everything fell apart as soon as the horse season was missed, and that was last year. Deep into a kitchen project, now...

I'm shooting for August 1st, that is my birthday. But don't hold me to it.

Re: 1968

Today, I installed the lines to the after market chrome over flow tank. One line went to the radiator and the other line went in a hole in the fender well. That way it want make a mess in the engine compartment. I also did a little on the hood latch. I still need to make it center the hole a little better. It got so hot even under the canopy, that I gave up and went in for the AC. I will pull the latch off tomorrow and adjust it.
