Yeah, I hear you there. Still have my bed left, but the worst is done for now. Any pics of your progress?

Re: 1963 C-10 in NC
No problem. These are all original and I don't see the need to replace them as the condition is fine. I need to remove the 2 front ones and clean up the liner that oversprayed on them, but its a smaller project for a rainy day.

Re: 1963 C-10 in NC
And almost forgot my last weekend project. While doing all the finish work under the hood, the accelerator linkage bracket was a tad long and just barely hitting the back of the head, so I trimmed it down an inch, went to the lower hole on the v8 bracket and ordered a heim joint to fix the shortened length. Heim joint will be here wed/thurs per shipping.

Re: 1963 C-10 in NC
101* yesterday......had to fix a brake light issue on the wifes truck, then on to mine.
Got up to advanced auto and got a 48" v belt. Belt installed. 6.5gal coolant filled her up, let her sit overnight and no leaks on the static check. Pressure check will have to be at start up. Will have some extra hand son deck when we get to that part. Started to do some engine bay clean up. Should have paint starting on last valve cover tonight and I'll get the spark plug wires on tonight also. Once valve covers are on I can get the breathers and pcv valve in. Need to run vacuum to the gauge also...... Will get brakes bled ASAP once last fitting arrives. Had to order a 3/8" - 3an for the frame to over axle line. Couldn't locate any locally, so summit to the rescue. Harness should be mailed in 2-3 days per American autowire and then ready to prime and fire up. So pretty much down to small things for this week and waiting on parts......

Re: 1963 C-10 in NC
Not much to report today. Got home late last night. Went to check for any coolant leaks and sure enough....found a pinhole on the lower heater line. No big deal, but stainless steel makes it a 20 min job to trim the line now. Line is fixed and reinstalled. Will check again tonight after work. Hit 102* yesterday and close to the same today which just makes it miserable outside.
Think I'll just stay in and finish the valve cover tonight.

Re: 1963 C-10 in NC
We've had 100*+ days since late last week.
Did get my brake line fitting in yesterday so got it installed and the brakes are sealed up. So need to fill and bleed them.

Re: 1963 C-10 in NC
Your truck is really looking good! I'm making a list now of some guys to reach out to if I can find the space/time/ money to do a frame off resto on my 66. You definitely made that list. Will be spending more time on your build page, for sure.
Awesome Work! Pappyx4!

Re: 1963 C-10 in NC
So far up to around 20 people and 5-6 vehicles. Kinda got thrown together at the last minute. A lot of peoples trucks off the road right now getting work done. Mine included. Hoping to have the engine fired off by then though.
Will try and do another when it cools off....maybe Septemberish. Lugnutz65 is a great dude.....helped me find my other 63.....is a short fleet big back window. Will be the next project after the stepside. And will definitely let you know when heading back up that way!!!

Re: 1963 C-10 in NC
Well....all the rain has been a big slow down.
Did get a few hours in on the buffer with the driver side cover. I think another hour tonight and it'll be ready for paint. This one has more flaws in the casting than the other, so the finish won't be quite as good, but I'll get it to pop.

Re: 1963 C-10 in NC
And heres a before pic with the 4 coats of paint prior to starting the work.
Were painted black, silver, orange and silver again. A lot of stripping, sanding and polishing. I'm probably up to around 30-35 hours per cover from start to finish.

Re: 1963 C-10 in NC
Another small problem fixed. Been working out the bugs on the throttle assembly. Was able to salvage the OEM cab mount and throttle rod. Did have to order a 1/4" heim joint and retap the end of the rod to 1/4" coarse. Also had to drill the carb mount out to 1/4" to accept the heim, but all hooked up and feels nice and smooth.

Also got some more time in on the valve cover. Should have the last of the polishing done tonight and taped for paint.
