Re: How about some pics of 47-59
I've already done a frame up, trying to get everything done for paint and finishing it. I have a 327 300HP/350TH in it now. later it will get a 700. I'm just building a nice driver.

Re: How about some pics of 47-59
well, I don't like a filler in the middle of the bed, so I decided to come out the side. I thought I could come out below the spear, but that was way too low, so I did the spear. it's turning out very nice so far. and it really is a gonna be a driver. I won't have a car that stays parked all the time. I even kept my nova race car (71 nova 8:14 @ 178) licensed and inspected so I could drive it to week-end shows. racing is to rich for me now, so I'm doing the 59. had a 62 swb for 22 yrs. sorry about babbling on, lol.

Looks like some nice work dew468, watching for more on the build. Love the spear down the side of that body style.

Re: How about some pics of 47-59
Thanks mud-man. sqrlnts, not my shop. belongs to a good friend and he lets me work on it in his shop. I had a chassis shop for 20 yrs, but had to close it and go on disability. this truck should have been a 6 month project, but its taken me over 2 yrs to get this far. things should go faster now that most body work is done. it has been around the block a couple times.
Thanks for all the compliments guys. I have a build thread on H.A.M.B. board. my user name there is also dew468. |

Re: How about some pics of 47-59
I bought this 49 3600 last year. It was a perfectly functioning older restoration with not many miles & with most of original ¾ ton running gear. Too many years doing auto body work had me shying away from full “projects”. This was originally a Calif. truck & not a “correct” resto….so, perfect for mods!
First pic is as I bought it and the rest are as it is now and a couple in process shots. After shots... |

Re: How about some pics of 47-59
I first posted this about a year ago on this thread here:
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...335636&page=84 Since then, it's been shortened to a 1/2 ton & had an engine/trans swap & other stuff. Got on the road this week, went to my first meet last night. Got a trophy & lots of likes... - 350 crate, mildly ported, compression bump, comp roller cam & roller lifters, Mallory Dual point, blk hugger headers, tri-power by Ron Kellogg. - Tremec TKO600 5 spd with Hydraulic (master/slave) clutch - 2" drop ...IFS w/coil overs & sway bar. Rear (3:73 Nova Posi) is 2 leaves, coil overs & panhard bar. 4-wheel discs. - PS is T-bird R&P w/modified GM pump (Borgeson) A pleasure to drive...! Build thread at signature.

Re: How about some pics of 47-59
Ok, not that I am planning on doing it but i always wondered what a panel chopped down to a truck would look like. AZMccoy was kind enough to photochop it down, now I know.
This one is at the lower bodyline, Not sure its right. Almost needs the top chopped down. This one, the bed is almost too high. Would make for a nice deep bed even laid on the ground. |
