Re: Kabwe's aka Bam's build
Thanks guys.
Its nothing like rebuilding an engine and starting her up for the first time. Its great feeling. I'm now rebuilding the 4L60e. I have it all torn apart in my workshop, I just need to inspect all the components and what I will replace and that is trashed. I will make it beefier thats for sure. Than I can installing it in the truck for the last time.lol |

Bam, that is an awesome shed. I really like your cabinets and floor covering. That engine looks and sounds sweet. Nice to see you back on the board too!

Tons of great fab work on your build.. Thanks for the 47-54 battery door idea. I copied your idea when fixing my own floors and it worked out great!!

Re: Kabwe's aka Bam's build
Thanks guys for the comments on the tool shed it one of the best things I've ever done as far as space is concerned. I wanted it bigger but permits would not allow. It is 12x14 with a driveway between it and the garage. I can park a car between the two and work. My wife has great ideas sometimes.
I can't wait to get the engine in the truck, but I'm going to hold off until I rebuild the 4L60E and I also have to get better torque converter because of the cam. Here are some pics of the trans tear down and cleaned up. I have not had time to inspect the components yet, maybe this weekend I can get that done. I need to start ordering parts. I know a sun shell is a must that is a weak link on the stocked 700r4 and 4L60e. |

Re: Kabwe's aka Bam's build
Wow, glad to see you back on here, Bam. Your work on here is pretty inspirational to a lot of us. You do such good work with not a lot of training, tools or equipment, just a vision, a good plan and a lot of hard work. Same with the shop. Looks great!
And yeah, nothing like firing an engine for the first time. Well, except maybe getting girls shirt off for the first time... endorphins I suppose.

Re: Kabwe's aka Bam's build
Bam
Great shed, good place for engine assembly, storage when engines are completed. How long after the concrete was poured did you put the floor seal on? You might try to rig some supporting uprights and cross members to get a shade on the space between the buildings. steel up rights that set down in the concrete a pipe, that the upright will snug down into the bung in the concrete slab, then some pipe to join to support a light see through corrugated roofing. Something that can be temporary so the local authorities won't drain you on permits and other non esential drivel. Tarps for sides that can be rolled upped and stored. Just a thought.
