Re: '66 Sunbeam Minx Project - F20C/6sp/4-link/Discs...
in my youth i worked at a company that made dock cranes , the realy big ones .
they had a real big shed they did sandblasting in , incredible noize to get the mans attention you had to bang on the metal he was working on with a big hammer over the noise i dont think the guy doing that work lived long as he was allways covered in grey stuff and rustdust think they still used sand in those days

the place i worked at was a $#!% hole, my mask was a welding helmet with rags taped to it to protect your neck. we used steel shot though, so at least dust wasnt a huge concern... /hijack |

Re: '66 Sunbeam Minx Project - F20C/6sp/4-link/Discs...
Body Ready for Epoxy Primer The interior, floorboards (top and bottom), engine compartment, and trunk will be shot by me later. After blasting I could see that the lower/rear of the front fenders had some cancer starting. So I cut them out and will be addressing them later as well. The shiny areas (areas which will be primered now) have all been either DA'ed or hand sanded. The dull grey is the bare virgin blasted metal. Bring on the bare metal pics: Last edited by Frizzle Fry; 11-15-2013 at 04:10 AM. |

I think you should paint the red stripe back on and clear it
Edit... looked back... looks like the red was on the trim piece.

Re: '66 Sunbeam Minx Project - F20C/6sp/4-link/Discs...
looking at the bare car i would say gunmetal grey metallic would look good alltough its a modern colour
another option would be to use some chassic racingcolours referring to toyota (white and red)

Re: '66 Sunbeam Minx Project - F20C/6sp/4-link/Discs...
The painter said if flows very well. I'll find out for myself soon enough. But first I have to prepare the shop to be able to maintain proper paint and cure temps (>65*F).
