Re: What did you do to your truck today?

pressure washed the engine compartment getting ready to paint. Have to wait about 2 weeks to get my 292 back from being rebuilt. cant wait too put the new intake and 2 barrel carb with headers and exhaust cut outs! they look so good in the packaging but going to look even better on the truck.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

The weather took a turn for the worse... hard to believe I was sandblasting out in the yard a week ago!

In any event I created wiring diagrams today for matching up the new gauges and signals into the stock '65 wiring harness.

Nice work. Having the diagrams is not only helpful in initial assembly, but years later when something needs troubleshooting.

This is truly the one thing I miss about California. Where I grew up in the bay area, winters could be very harsh - it would actually rain sometimes and the temperature could drop into the 40's!

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

Does driving the snot out of it count as "doing" something? If so I did a lot yesterday and today, I drove it to work. approx 100 miles round trip.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

Welded in the new bottom patch panel on the driver's side front fender and installed new rocker on same side. Also, cleaned the drip rails on the cab and painted them with POR 15. Also treated the floor under the rockers with same. Was shocked to see my truck actually has a little rust (under the old rockers). Hadn't noticed it before but this body is SO MUCH BETTER than any other classic I have ever worked on, I can't complain. My last one was a 55 belair, did new floors, rockers, trunk and on and on. Never again, I'm keeping this one. It should outlast me, so yes, I'm in a good place with this little Short Step Side GMC. It ain't never leavin. Put a 350/700r4 and this thing cruises great. Now just working on the cosmetic part. It's been a long haul, but worth it.

John I had slid under mine today to have a look, my track ar sits perfectly horizontal with the frame withthe ride height I`m at right now, I will drop the front one more inch, then I`m done.[IMG][/IMG]

Today last sunny day for a few so took advantage and just went on a ride to no-where just a big circle. Then parked it back in the shop and cleaned it up.
