Got the truck on the hoist today, box going on tomarrow, new 6" drop is installed and the flip kit/C notch has been done. Now I need to remanufacture the tilt hinges and reinstall the drivetrain. Would like to be done by end of month

cab,
Wow! Interesting. Did you take the 4x4 in your avatar and make it 2wd? Love the blue.

Had my 255/60 17 inch Bridgestones delivered, Fed Ex contractor left like this, that will be going on my truck probably next year. Now to save for the Torque Thrusts.

Re: What did you do to your truck today. The 3rd chapter
72 died on me today in the driveway. Starter must have a dead short tried jumping the solenoid with the tester starter button . Nothing and the button got hot quick. So I have a new one on the way as it was under warranty but I’m done with DBElectric . 3 in two years on 2 different vehicles. So I ordered a Powermaster mini .
I also tried one of the M/T wheels that came off the Tacoma on the 68 . Pain in the butt sanding them to this finish by hand ,may just sand with 400 and paint them black .

Re: What did you do to your truck today. The 3rd chapter
I completed several small projects today, some of which have been on my to-do list for a long time:
Replaced the output seal on my recently rebuilt 700R4. Either I damaged it or it was defective. Went with a GM seal this time. Made a mirror image tailpipe hanger bracket for a full length exhaust system I'm planning on getting. Also installed stock hangers on both sides of the chassis in the middle of the truck Installed a replacement hood hinge I painted yesterday. The original Hinge was bent sideways enough that the open limit stop no longer worked. Painted and installed a set of shorty 5/16 body screws in the left inner fender brace. These screws are hard to find. |

Made my 300 drive to Kilgore! Truck ran like a dream, 13.5 mpg going 65 ~ 75 and through tons of little towns on US hwy 79!
Also daughter had a good nap - kids can sleep anywhere ;-)

Re: What did you do to your truck today. The 3rd chapter
NICE!
After waiting months for parts long story & the COVID ecomoney I was able to install the coolant assembly and that. Anyone ever notice a fan's not center inside a shroud, at least BBC? My fan is about 2" off the original shroud on the LH side and just 1/2" on the RH side. Looks about even up & down. That one threw me, but from different angles the core support is square the cab within 1/10" at most. OT, I think the center hole in the dash for a dash pad is center the cab, for what worth. Once I found that there are other indicators, such as speaker's grill is centered. Anyway, I have another BBC truck, the fan is more centered inside the shroud left and right, but then again it doesn't have the original shroud and can't speak for the alignment.

Jealous, I'd love to have that color and yours being "Super" - it's the only one that I like (love) better than mine.

I must be the world's Greatest Grinder because my welding well it might be a little lacking.
I am trying to weld a cab dolly and I make one pass with the welder and one or two with the grinder. Maybe that is how it is supposed to be done. I am using a old stick machine I hear mig is easier maybe I should try mig.

Got out there before it heated up and changed the alternator. It had been shutting off at low rpm and required a higher speed than normal to turn on again. Fixed.
