You're welcome and you're a LOT easier to talk to with a little humility in your "voice".

I agree you should focus on "more important things" but (in my opinion) that doesn't mean you have to forget about your passion for cars or trucks.

My unsolicited advice to you - admittedly the worst kind - is to get as good a job as you can that let's you pursue your education. Then STUDY!! and SAVE!! If you can only do one? STUDY, STUDY, STUDY.

Keep monitoring this and other forums soaking up knowledge about common problems with the vehicles you're interested in/the way to solve them.

When the time is right, go shopping. There's nothing more frustrating than buying a project vehicle and having no money to work on it. Remember, if you have money you have options. No money? No options. Best of luck!!

P.S. Study something that will lead to a high paying career! My idea is if you've GOTTA work your whole life anyway, it may as well be at something that pays you the most you can get. What's that? You wanna "be happy"? You'll be happier making more money than less money!
(I wish someone had made me see this clearly right after high school)

Re: What Did You Do With Your Truck Today ?

I have been thrashing on my interior trying to get it back together for a car show on the May 6th. This is my first attempt at an interior.

I just need to reassemble. Oh and clean the 3" of dust off my dash.

Re: What Did You Do With Your Truck Today ?

Since my bed on my 47 is all apart I took the sides to the local blaster to remove all the old finish and rust. 150.00 to strip both of them. I couldn't do half as good a job with a grinder and sandpaper and I can now work on something else while they do it.I would have spent days getting it done myself.

Re: What Did You Do With Your Truck Today ?

I made a front shock (driver side) mount that allowed me to put a spring on the shock. I used 5" x 3" x 1/4" angle iron 7" long and bolted it to the front axle U clamp that hold the leaf springs to the axle. I removed the old shock mount and put it with the spare parts.
My test drive shows that springs on the front shocks really steady up the front end on a straight axle and help with the weight load of the 454ci.

What i did was to drill holes in the lip of the fender and the bed sides and welded them back up like a spot weld. I am not good at makeing the joints look good around the bed sides so i thought it best to hide the welds. if you want i can take some pic's. sorry it took so long to get back the wife dragged me to the big city of NY yesterday, wow so many people in one place it's crazy!!!

An elbow breaker! I drove a 10wheel dump truck for a guy that liked those things. every time I would take it off and toss it under the seat he would put it back on. after the third time I threw it in the dump box! that was the last time I saw one I guess they are ok of you are tall enough for it to clear your elbow when the wheel spins back to center.
