Oh wow! you are killing it on filling the seams. Very nice! they are just disappearing.
Dropping the TIG on this project? I know that took a bunch of time. Keep the pictures coming. |

Re: '66 Sunbeam Minx Project - F20C/6sp/4-link/Discs...
Thanks guys. Now I see seams everywhere and the fenders are welded on anyway... Still just the mig (some of those beads did lay very flat). I have some of the Eastwood lead-free body solder I may have to finally put to use here.

INSANE! If I ever win the lottery I'm sending all my toys to one of only a few people on this board... you'd be near, or at, the top of the list if you'd take them! (Don't hold your breath on that, I don't even buy tickets)
Is there a way to search the "most viewed" threads on this board? This baby has hit over HALF A MILLION TIMES!!!

Wow, lost track of the view count there. Most of those come from backlinks from other forums/sites I'm sure. Thanks Low Elco. I'm surprised no one has call me on my previous statement of "no body mods." With the welded seams the statement has morphed into "subtle/tasteful body mods" Somebody just win already then Did some leading (lead free body solder) over the weekend. I'll try to grab some pics tomorrow. |

I don't know... those doors look kinda small... might need to make a little suicide door that opens for the back ala the old Saturn ions... You should be able to knock that out in a few hours, right?

Re: '66 Sunbeam Minx Project - F20C/6sp/4-link/Discs...
lead .... at least in the quantities hes aplying it is better than bondo , it protects the metal underneat from rusting unlike bondo thats slightly porious and can hold water in under the paint
the only reason bondo took over is because its eazier to work with when lead is aplied too thick it will crack over time , the term leadsleds comes from the leadwork moulding the creators used before painting im alergic to epoxy (main ingredient in bondo) and i would love to learn to work with lead that way

Re: '66 Sunbeam Minx Project - F20C/6sp/4-link/Discs...
Yeh, first time leading. Went pretty smooth. I could have used more (any) solder paste on the wooden paddles. I'll be doing more leading soon. Been working on the front fender to rocker seams Thanks for the continued interest guys.
