I built a 71 GMC frame for my 66 and I have had the 66 apart for paint and to move it over to the 71 frame for a while now.
I was working on it this afternoon and spent 20 minutes looking for a 1/2" impact socket that was in my hand....DOH!
It will be nice to get the 66 Frankenstein done and back on the road. Power steering, automatic O/D trans, giant front and rear swaybars...... of course.. I will probably loose my keys in my pocket when I go to drive it.

I found that wrench. It was in my pocket all the time. Found it when I took my dirty pants off to take a shower.

Then you can train them to do the job they were made to do all by them self.

those tools would sell for sure i would be standing in line for those first time they come out intoo the store , no more dirty hand scaved knukles bending in weird positions and getting stuck between a hot exaust and the carbody

OK. I'm trading my 47 Chevy truck bed that needs rust repair, and use another bed parts from my friend to make one good bet. In exchange he will give me his 17" Torque Thrust wheels & tires. Once I get them on my truck, that will really motivate me.
I'm almost done with the 73 F-250, and the 57 Sedan Delivery.





This means I'll be out of work.
BUT I'll have time to get stuff done on the 65.

One of my pet peaves about doing someone elses build is when we start, plan and time frame in hand, life happens and they need to "put the project on hold for a while"...

Of course the assumption is, storing their "project" for them... sometimes for years.
How do you get around that? In a nice way...

Really haven't had that problem yet. They give me the money up front, and I use it up. It takes a while. This 57 I've had for almost 2 years, but I'm doing other work in between. I got over 30k in parts & labor just from the 57 so far. Some in between jobs are big also, but not as long. I try to over lap the jobs to keep me busy. Lucky no one is in a hurry, and it gives them time to save up.
This 40 Ford Woodie is a very good friend of mine. When he has the money, I'll start on it. Meanwhile I'm storing for him until he's ready.

Cleaned up the shop, and brought in my 750 Seca's to make 1 out of 3 bikes. I also traded some work for these American Racing Torque Thrust wheels. They will look even better than the Cragers. These wheels will inspire me to get back on the project. Any takers for the 15 and 16" Cragers?

I agree, they always have been my favorites. I didn't say what size they are. This makes them even better. All 4 are 17"

Got inspired after installing the Torque Trusts, and put the cab back on. I need to fab the body, bed mounts and the engine mounts. Then I'll restore the rest of the frame.

I used 63-66 stock frame mounts on my buddies 4X4 66 truck on a 74 frame.

I'll use ones I cut off an S-10 frame, or make my own for the rear. The front half of the frame is still a 65.

I forgot to post some pictures of some progress. Got the engine and 700r4 trans in. Had to make my own motor mounts so the free headers will fit. Still have to modify the frame crossmember on the drivers side for the header clearance. You can see where I'll notch the crossmember at the yellow chalk mark.
