No problem buddy, might be a while before I get to the actual install though, just collecting parts now. If you have a big cam in your big block like I have your going to be in the same situation as me, too much cam and not enough vacuum for brakes

Re: Project "What was I Thinking" 68 SWB
I haven't got as much done over the past couple of weeks as I would have liked but I did manage to get the bed on and laid out on the garage floor

Thanks Scott, I also managed to clean all the dust off my engine and put my 454 logo plates on the valve covers.

Re: Project "What was I Thinking" 68 SWB
Thanks Scott, I can't wait for the rest of the truck too look as good as the engine does
Thanks guys, I'm pretty happy with it. In the photo I haven't clearanced the bedsides for the tires yet. She is tight and I could never drive it like that. I couldn't believe it would even go down when I tried it. To my surprise she squeezed down and rested the rear on the bumpstops. I will tackle that next, just need to do some figuring before cutting. Thanks Tom, I still have a ton of work to do before I can think about painting it. I haven't even started the bodywork on the cab yet and I have to have to raise my bed floor and figure out what to do with my wheel tubs. Seems never ending

Re: Project "What was I Thinking" 68 SWB
Have you mocked up your steering shaft yet? You have the "touring" drop member right? I'm about to get to that point and if you have some pics and measurements it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Wade |

Re: Project "What was I Thinking" 68 SWB
Wade I haven't mocked my steering shaft up yet, I was going to do that after I started taking the front end back apart for paint, at least I need the Slosh Tubz out of the way so I have room to work. I do have the Touring Dropmember up front, Nate sent me some pics a while back of what the shaft would like like from another customers truck. If you want to pm me your email address and I'll send you over the pics he sent me.

Re: Project "What was I Thinking" 68 SWB
After looking at your hood issues I believe mine was made by the same company. The gap is way off on the passenger side and it's high on the drivers side just like yours was. Wanna do mine
