Re: Donz '65 SWB Stepper Budget Build...

Today was a good day off… Not only was the Sun shining and the temp in the upper 50's in mid Dec, it was also TRUCK TIME!!!

Not a lot done, but I did get to enjoy sanding and more sanding...

The Stepper fenders, where I frenched in the taillight buckets…

Getting ready...

In progress…

Smoother…

Other side too…

This is after the 80 grit, still gotta go finer and smooth out the filler, but another step closer nonetheless...

That pic of the 60 is perfect screensaver or Avatar material.

The underseal looks good too.

Look forward to the day I can use it again on my load bed.

Bed liner looks good Don. I too like the grill shot. We've been lucky here in Oklahoma no snow yet and 70° today!

Re: Donz '65 SWB Stepper Budget Build...

Another winter day in the low 60's...

Another milestone passed…

the Yellow is GONE!!!
IMG_7660 by Donald Olivo, on Flickr
IMG_7658 by Donald Olivo, on Flickr

Considered fixing a couple of dings in the tailgate, then reconsidered given the fake patina paint that is planned… so I left the dings for a bit of character...
IMG_7655 by Donald Olivo, on Flickr

Happy the yellow is history and I was able to get some truck time in...

Earlier today I accompanied my son Jeremy to court, he had to go due to a ticket for no proof of insurance… anyway, while standing and waiting for court to start, here is a conversation overheard…

Officer- "You do realize that when you show up to court smelling like marijuana that we are going to make sure you don't have any on you?"
Young lady- "You're not searching me."
Officer- "Uh yeah, Okay!" as he escorted her down the hall...

Re: Donz '65 SWB Stepper Budget Build...

Lookin' good. I always liked the red primer.

I can't get over our mild winter this year. It was warm here yesterday but very windy.

My daily driver laid down on me and had get a tow home. The tow truck guys helped me get the truck in the shop and then I was able to use a come along and pull it on the lift.
Had to replace the fuel pump.
These new to me in tank pumps are a bigger job to change than the old school small block chevys on the side of the block.

You're making great progress Don, knocking doors out of windows (as my Dad would say)

It's great to see the weather in Arkansas is a little better than North East England
