Re: Not Another Rebuild Thread....
Well then...
I posted this in 2017, and crazy enough it is still true. Only the house project has changed. Quote:
The floor plans for a 2,000 sq ft main floor, with a matching 2,000 in an unfinished basement. This is the house last Halloween, just before the roofers came. I hope everyone is healthy and doing well, we have been. Not sure when I am going to get time to lay hands on my truck again because after the house, we are planning a 30x60 3bay shop 100 meters west of the house... maybe after that?? Be well all and keep wrenching !!

Re: Not Another Rebuild Thread....
Hello Murph,
Glad to see you are doing well, the truck will get done when time allows. I took a similar break as well when life got in the way. Looking forward to see the truck complete.

Re: Not Another Rebuild Thread....
Ok.
Well the new house took longer than I expected, and has been an exciting project that has brought the wife and I a lot of joy. Its crazy to think back and realize it has been 11 years and 11 days since I retired out of the Army, and other than getting the exhaust system done with cut-outs, I have not laid hands on this build what so ever. Still only 2 miles on the odo... But - yesterday I popped the hood and checked everything out. A fresh battery and 4 cranks with some starter fluid and it roared back to life without even a puff of smoke. Today I am picking up the wheels I took off yesterday for new treads, and the front glass is being installed next week. I will post some photos, probably on Saturday when I will have more computer time. Looking back on this thread ... wow .... just wow .... its been a while.

Re: Not Another Rebuild Thread....
The time that flies by is staggering. There were cat prints on it from a cat we have not seen in 5 years or more. Cobwebs, spooky shadows... the works. But it cleaned up well. Before last week the only work I had gotten done on it was an exhaust system with cutouts put in. After I got it cleaned up, it got new front glass and fluid change. It got stuck between gears across town on me, did not realize that my shift linkage needed as much adjusting as it turned out, but got that taken care of. All this was to try and get it ready for an invite only car show party that was being hosted by a friend I have known since the High School years. It also fell on the day my wife and best friends shared birthday, so it was a win-win and the first time showing this truck in Washington. So me in my stepside, wife in her 72 LeMans Sport, best friend in his 72 Chevy Luv, and his younger brother in his 66 Olds. We had a great time, live band and massive taco pot luck spread of food. Next up I have some different side mirrors I want to try, my originals just did not pan out well and I cant see crap out of them, so they gotta go. Truck runs like a champ, wants to go fast, and is fun as hell to drive. Gets some odd looks tho...
