You won't hear it coming but you will see it when it passes. That grill is looking sweet.

Re: My Dusty 71 GMCe Electruck
Reminds me of this Sport Truck article I read when I was in the middle of rebuilding my first truck. It definitely influenced some of the decisions I made on that project.

Re: My Dusty 71 GMCe Electruck
Nobody: hey what's it like trying to do an EV Conversion in California?
Me: it sucks so I ordered this three way rocker switch, up (green) will be for Drive and down (red) will be for charge, yes this will be done manually during the first phase of the project, well, AMAZON shipped the switch but refuses to ship it's housing as it may cause California in the state of Cancer! Nice job on the truck, well done! Hope the knee is all better so you can drive it. Thanks for the entertaining build.

Re: My Dusty 71 GMCe Electruck
thank you, I really appreciate that, kinda feeling down on myself right now, not sure if this is a sign of some bone disease or something, my left knee gave out at 45 but I used to run 3 to 5 miles 6 days a week back then

Re: My Dusty 71 GMCe Electruck
All that running could contribute to the knee being unhappy. I switched to more weights, less running and a different diet to help my joints. It seems to be working for me.

Re: My Dusty 71 GMCe Electruck
Charging for the first time using a first gen Chevy Volt onboard charger, for now it's a manual process where I have to use the laptop to close the contactors and start the charger, but that soon will be automated
I have no idea how long it will take to fully charge yet, but I will be finding out soon. the charger is water cooled and also charges the regular car battery so this is what the simple Charger Menu looks like, I just wanted to show it to you guys, it is so easy to use: Electric 71 Chevy Truck Charging For The First Time Last edited by Gregski; 08-09-2023 at 10:25 AM. |
