all I can say is, you are WAY smarter than me! If I saw that "spaghetti" mess I would either run or cry. congrats on your progress and the excellent job so far. good luck with the spaghetti. cant wait to see this beast come to life Drew you have to video the firing up of the motor. Drew do you feel and "extra" pressure, knowing your build is the "most watched" ??? Coop

That is one ugly pile of wires. I don't envy you having to mess with all of that.

Re: ** YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN ** The truck Chevrolet should have built.
This isn't really very exciting, but here's whats been going on. I've been tweaking my panel gaps all over the truck and am finally satisfied. The drivers side came out easy and worked within all the factory given adjustments, the passenger side (pictured) was a little tricky and I ended up with my die grinder reaming out 3 holes to slide the fender forward an extra quarter inch. The 2 upper holes and the one lower fender mount under the rocker. You know that game that kids play where they stick their hand or foot forward in the car and then scream "I was the first one in South Carolina" -or wherever-, Yeah well my poor old drivers fender is going to lose that game every time from now on.
I'll have to split the difference on the gaps when I mount the hood, hoping it won't really show up at the leading edge of the hood and fenders.

Re: ** YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN ** The truck Chevrolet should have built.
Was the cab square on the frame? I had to shift my cab a hare because it was a littler under an 1/8" difference on the passenger vice driver side. Although yours would be a bit harder to jiggle than a regular cab.

Re: ** YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN ** The truck Chevrolet should have built.
The cab is square on the frame, but that really wouldn't matter with door gaps within the cab structure, heck, the cab could be sitting on the floor and you still could align the panels together.

Re: ** YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN ** The truck Chevrolet should have built.
Had a little problem today trying to locate my trans cooler lines. Seems I forgot them. Would have been a good thing to install while the cab was off the frame, don't ya think??? DOH!!!!
I snaked them in there under the engine, but there was no way I was going to connect them into the trans from underneath. Lucky for me I have a high hump.

Re: ** YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN ** The truck Chevrolet should have built.
I also played with my spaghetti dinner and got rid of a ton of the 2002 front harness. Right is keep pile, left is trash.
Checked the fit of my grille and knew ya'll would want something interesting to look at for a whole Saturdays worth of work.

You know, Drew...at the rate that you are going on this build, I sure hope you have another project lined up for the near future. You were destined to build trucks. Keep the inspiration flowing.

Re: ** YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN ** The truck Chevrolet should have built.
I got to finish up the trans lines and caulked and bolted the high hump back down. Then moved on to the radiator mounting which involved drilling out the 2 bottom mounts and moving them both a half inch to the right. I welded them back onto the rad support. Upper radiator mounting is still up in the air. The fan shroud also will fit nicely, just need to figure out how to attach it.
When Andrew walked in the garage he saw the radiator in and asked "hooking things up already?" I said yes, his response was "Dang". I must be moving if Andrew gives me a "dang".

Re: ** YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN ** The truck Chevrolet should have built.
Good progress....have you considered the shroud cover they sell in the parts catalogs in either polished or raw....or possibly a 2nd gen camaro or similar cover?
