Quick answer, I needed saltine crackers. I'm making Mexican Shrimp Cocktails for Superbowl. I've got to have saltines.

No one had them. The most common cracker on the planet and I can't get them.

They had all kinds of graham crackers, Goldfish, Triscut, Ritz and some weird ones.
BUT NO SALTINES!!!

This is a conspiracy. Someone is hoarding saltines. It's like the toilet paper thing all over again.
Same issue here .
My wife has been hunting for them for weeks

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

Who'd a knew? Saltine shortage. Can't tell you the last time I ate one. It ain't me hoarding! Grandpa loved those oyster crackers and I got hooked on them, too. But haven't had those in years either.
I want to report my issues finding boneless skinless chicken breasts at Food Lion. I've been stopping in for a week and finally got a pack last evening. They were about 1/2 stocked. Why Food Lion? The other places sell theirs for at least a dollar more a pound and I'm a hard head when it comes to helping those out who charge more for the same thing. Safeway used to sell them at the same price, until Albertson's bought them. Then, it was up a buck a pound. Maybe more now, I wouldn't know, don't even look.

The price of chicken has gone way up.

My wife picked up a bucket of KFC and the trimmings. No drinks. It was over 50 bucks.

Found a set of made in France Marchal driving lights in an old Hershey sell box . One has a minor chip in the lens from knocking around but are new . My guess mid 80’s ?

Edit: guess I got them from my uncles Jeep dealership . They were standard equipment on the 1982 Jeep Jamboree didn’t take long to find out on a google search

Nice find! Marchal lamps are like hen's teeth these days. The first 7" H4 headlamps I bought were Marchals, back in the mid-Seventies. Loved 'em right up until the reflectors eventually tarnished.

I had a set similar to that on my 86 Mustang GT. I wanted to get the covers for them but none were to be found at Pick A Part. The Mustang's were always picked clean. Then I realized that the Lincoln Mark VII had the same lights. All the Mustang guys had missed them. I must have bought 10 sets for under 10 bucks a set. I put them on Ebay and got about $100 a pair. Not a bad deal until someone else figured it out too. Then they were gone too.

Cool find! I remember when Marchals and Cibies were the thing. I ran Cibie Bobis in my Woodland Green '72 Blazer

I figured out a router bit I have can make this old style shoe molding I've been paying out the ying-yang for by the foot. I have to route it combined with ripping a certain way on the table saw to create it. I just came in for lunch after making the first piece. I also dug up an oak 1 x 6 x 10' I didn't realize I had, just before coming in. I'll grab a picture of the store bought and mine together. I'm a happy boy! I paid $35 for an oak 1x4x8" a couple weeks ago. This is probably a $55 piece and I can make over $100 of molding from it

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

Yeah buddy. You'd be wise to latch onto some extra cans now that you know there is an apparent NATIONAL shortage of em. After the past two years we are used to some items missing on the shelves now and again but this is a first being biscuits. Not even the cheapest brands are to be found. I've never made biscuits, yet. You tube here I come.

Inquiring minds want to know!

Made an Adze . Used an old leaf spring for the blade and just some rod for the handle. Which I’m not happy with its to small so I’ll be making a new one but it works well .

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

Nice work. I have those tools, adze, froe, and draw knife. The adze was listed as a maddock. Always cracks me up when someone is selling something and they don't even know what it is. I bought a "bacon press" I use often. It's made from aluminum, wooden handle, shaped in an arch with slots in it. That's because it's a pot strainer. How did they figure a light aluminum utensil would flatten out bacon?

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

I'll have to check him out. I'm all about home made. I couldn't tell you the last time I bought those tube biscuits. I could count the times on one hand. They are tasty and all that, and I wouldn't turn them down if you offered me some. I just prefer home made. I'll be making apple crisp for this evening, before my son eats all the vanilla ice cream! I'd make some of that, but need ingredients and no running out today.

I got that old style oak shoe ran off yesterday. The router bit wasn't the exact profile, but I realized I could rip a square edge and rip a second side where the curve went to square and come real close to a match.

Here is the store-bought (darker) and mine

Before I got too carried away, I realized I didn't need a whole lot of it for now and didn't run off the whole board. Turned out that 1x6 I found was 12'. I'll have other uses for the rest.

I had plenty of afternoon left, so I got back on my barn move project. I think it's been since Thanksgiving since I've done anything. I have the "move from" side all prepped and ready for the move, had the "move to" wall temporary supported, and ready to cut posts. I cut all but the front corner and installed what bottom plates I could, till I get to that front corner. I think I'll do the rest today.

These are pictures of what I started with, before putting up the temporary posts and beams. The back corner does have a single temporary post because I had to cut out the back corner post to put the stem wall in

I found out what is going on with the biscuits. The manufacturers can't get the metal ends for the tubes they are packaged in..... Plenty of biscuits and tubes just no metal ends.
