Re: A '54 named Busty

and Update #3.

got a funky electrical smell coming from the engine compartment (me thinks) smells like plastic melting on an exhaust pipe, could be a zip tie, or could be actual wire

I tried half donkey looking for it twice now, once on a side of the road and once in the driveway, no dice

i've had a few fuses melt the holders before without popping too

Re: A '54 named Busty

Ok, first good job on the cabinets. They look very nice and it really brightens up the kitchen.

Crickets, one pest my ex SIL is not raising.

As for the smell, roll the windows down and drive really fast until you outrun it. If that doesn't work, get off the donkey and really look for it.

thanks for your help, it doesn't really smell like a gasket, though I know what you mean

time to take a deeper dive

and I don't mean to brag, but everything is tightie and tight under there, nothing loose, nothing hugging on the exhaust

mandatory [preliminary] stare and compare (granted the blue one shown is slightly a different model, but you get the idea)

Re: A '54 named Busty

Smell,
Grab a length of hose, place one end near your schnoz and move the other end around under the hood when its stinky.
Check alt area if it's a new unit
Check painted areas like rad if they were freshly coated and not burned in yet.
Check battery venting and running voltage, if too high battery produces more gasses.
Nice seats. Some years from 88-98 have different offsets. I had an 88 with the drivers seat having the wide side and seen others with the driver getting the narrow side.
