My truck was already painted when I got it, but anything mecahnical is in need of attention, so I should start a thread with all the work I've been doing to it. My Username is a bit misleading - it's been my username on some of the camaro forums for years (I had an 01 camaro ss up until a few years ago) so I decided to use the same username on this forum, without thinking about it inferring that there was an LS1 in the truck lol. It just has an old 350 for now, but hopefully in the future I'll upgrade!

It's all good. I'm a member on a couple Camaro forums too. I don't get on them as much as this forum by far. I will hit you up when I get all my parts gathered up. By all means you should start a thread. I learn something new everyday by checking other members builds.

I spent the last few work sessions restoring my tilt steering column. It's been completely stripped sandblasted, primered then painted, next I installed all new components. What a major pain. I hope I never have to dig into that thing again...Ole Crash_ok helped me take it apart last year (thanks Mark

). It was way more difficult to assemble.

My plan next is to get the engine control fuse box and DBW box laid out so I can start wiring.

Thanks, I'm not looking forward to wiring. It looks like a rat took over my cab where all the wires from the engine come through....

that sucks LOL ive done that before. assembling something and then oh i forgot this part dang! like rebuilding a carb for example and forgetting one small piece

Have you decided on a location for your ECU and engine fuse panel? I recently ordered a vintage air kit, and I'm going to have to relocate mine from the glove box area.

I am putting the PCM HERE. The fuse box will be mounted on a bracket pretty close too. I am using a Bussman fuse box HERE, with the very small relays and fuses. It won't take up much room.

I've been busy inside the cab. It doesn't look like much but I have spent a bunch of time crawling around in there.
It's very slow going, every time I install something I have to track down screws, hardware etc. Lucky for me I have a complete truck to use for reference.
Also, there is a lot of little things that require restoration. Very time consuming.

Got the Fat mat insulation installed:

Dome and cargo lights installed and tested:

Dash pad and vents installed:

Brake booster installed:

wiring....it's coming soon.

Ignition switch installed.
