Re: What did you do to your truck today part III
Thank you.
"Block paving" as it is known here in the UK is popular and reasonably priced. The guys who lay it will do an area like this in under a day. They work like machines. This was that section looking the other way toward the house and where the woodwork shed went.

Re: What did you do to your truck today part III
Installed the sway bar I cleaned and painted last weekend. Painless install, drilling holes in the frame was a bit nerve-wracking but easy enough in the end. My LCA's already have the holes so no modifications required there.
It handles remarkably better... less feeling like a boat, more actual turning. |

Re: What did you do to your truck today part III
Got the cab stripped down to nothing. Just glass to remove and its time to start blasting.
Then I'll be onto what LT1 Burb is doing. Any tips on removing windshield and back glass? |

Well...I was just going to start with the headlight rebuild and ended up here. Guess I'll do a frame off now. Ha!

Re: What did you do to your truck today part III
Took 7" out of the original '65 12-bolt and installed a pair of Moser 7950 housing ends. These ends retain the stock brake mounting pattern while converting to the big Ford 3.15" axle bearings and retainer plates, thereby eliminating the need for C-clips.
The housing is now 50" end to end. It was 57" originally; already 1-1/2" narrower than the later truck 12-bolts. |

Nice looking bed. What wood did you use? Did the diamond plate come in a kit or did you fab that yourself?

Fired up my GMC after 2 weeks sitting and ran her for awhile. She was happy I paid some attention to her.

-15C (5F) so I just plugged it in and came in for a coffee. Today it gets to drop a stove off at the recyclers. It will be interesting to learn how she handles the fresh snow without the aid of positrac.

Re: What did you do to your truck today part III
Its cold out here and my GMC didn't have a working heater, so I took the blower motor out to find it was seized up solid. Put one in that I got from my 66...well...now I have freezing ice cold air. lol But hardly a touch of heat. Took the top off and the core had pine needles and crap on top of it...vacuumed that off...sill no heat. Thinking my core is plugged up or something. Will be taking the core out Saturday to see if the fins are still plugged. If they are I'll blow them out and if that doesn't help I'm throwing a new core in. Probably not a bad idea considering this one is 50 years old anyhow.
EDIT: One of the vents was open letting cold air in. lol Closed that and problem solved. Time for some driving in the snow! Oh yeah...I did a burn out to while I drove it earlier today. haha
