Re: My Dusty 71 GMCe Electruck
Reason #7 why I like to buy the factory OEM wire harnesses: you get to harvest quality automotive grade wires out of them and recoup some of your moneys
this was a grade score, 9 ten foot long wires in a variety of colors |

Re: My Dusty 71 GMCe Electruck
with the charging automated, there was no more need for the laptop, so how will we see the charging progress?
Time for a Nextion display |

Re: My Dusty 71 GMCe Electruck
so here I am trying to figure it out how to hook it up in place of the little red EPS8266 WiFi card, this thing literally only needs one wire to send the data on
and prototyping the display |

Re: My Dusty 71 GMCe Electruck
finally I figured it out and here it is getting it's 3.3 volts, ground, and the Tx (Transmit) signal from the VCU Vehicle Control Unit, how cool is that
here's a link to a short video of it in action: Electric Chevy GMCe Truck Charging With Nextion Display . |

Re: My Dusty 71 GMCe Electruck
well that didn't look quite right without it's grille so I decided to shove the little 2.4" Nextion display in there so that at a glance we could tell how late we was gonna be to the next place we need to drive to on the account of charging this electric truck
using only the finest of scrap plastic, literally found on the side of the road: |

I don't know about you all, but I aint ever buying plastic LED's ever again, you try to solder some leads on their little flimzy terminals and you end up melting the plastic, who knew?
