Re: What Did You Do With Your Truck Today ?
All wiring done and electrics are all good now on the 50.
Electric wiper motor installed. Tricky but a good fit. Just got to work out adjustments etc. Headlights changed over to Aussie ones. Not a bad day. Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: What Did You Do With Your Truck Today ?
Good luck with that. Take hard cash AND take someone (bigger than you) with you when you make the offer!
Afterall, there's a reason why the expression, "Cash talks and bullschit walks" exists. Folding green is hard to ignore. |

Re: What Did You Do With Your Truck Today ?
Schrumgmc,
I have missed some of your posts too. Is this the same truck you had that extremely long thread on a while ago titled "rat rod it" or something similar. Maybe you could start a new thread titled "Second try" and re the cash and where to hold it, maybe start another thread again titled "purchasing tips and tricks" and then just to be sure start up another one titled "How to find another truck if I can't get my first choice". Just a suggestion mate, might help get some good advice in the one spot rather than all over the forum. Now back to this thread, finally worked out the wipers. The shafts in the wiper transmission were seized solid. Lots of lubricant, a vice and a pair of multi grips and they loosened up nicely. Works a treat! Another job down for registration. Re: What Did You Do With Your Truck Today ?
Yep, your right Dan, I was playing around. All in humour and I hope you take it that way shrum. I think your enthusiasm is great mate. No one gets more excited about old trucks than me and whatever little advice I may be able to give I will.
I'll say one thing, while some probably get a little frustrated with some of your comments, they keep reading your posts and I for one keep reading in the hope you get your truck! Me - i'll always have a joke here in there, no harm intended. Cheers Posted via Mobile Device |

Reason I asked where to put the Cash, is because what would be more pressuring ?. I personally think the Professional thing to do is put it in my Wallet ------------------------------Back to Thread Post---------------------------------------- When I bring it home, first thing I am going to work on is putting the Glass in, may take a while but I can get it done

Re: What Did You Do With Your Truck Today ?
After what I've been through on my windshield install, I believe I could install one by myself if I had a normal truck to install one on! But would you even want to install the glass before paint?

Re: What Did You Do With Your Truck Today ?
If it was me I would have a shop put in the windshield! They are expensive when you break one LEARNING HOW! You can do the rest of them but you need to buy a manual, it would answer a lot of your questions and show how things go.

Re: What Did You Do With Your Truck Today ?
Almost 4 years ago, I started my "long term" 59 Apache project. It didn't get very far because I wasn't able to title the truck I'd bought. As of yesterday, the project is real again This time with a clear title and upgraded to BW.

Re: What Did You Do With Your Truck Today ?
I've never looked at the side steps to see how they are attached to the truck. Perhaps if you had room, you could remove the bed, put it on some stands and work on it at your leisure.

Re: What Did You Do With Your Truck Today ?
the steps are held on with bolts. Just take a look underneath the steps and you'll see the bolt heads, They attach upwards into the step side fenders
