Re: PO has me PO'd
Sorry but I won't be any help as far as tuning. I haven't got to that point yet. I'm rather aprehensive about it as I don't know what I'm doing either. I want to learn but I have a feeling the curve is going to be big.
Have you tried the Efilive forum? How about the GM Performance forum? Sorry for the hijack jaros44sr.

gm forum, uhh.... I was at one other, not sure thats it. One problem is I am on an automatic tune, and I'm manual. The other, I may have figured out about 5 years later. But "fixing" it I cant figure out how to. Its not a tune issue, its a physical issue. |

Re: PO has me PO'd
This is the other forum I was talking about....
http://www.pacificp.com/forum/index.php Those guys mainly work with GMT400 and GMT800 trucks, but there are some smart guys there when it comes to EFI tuning. I believe some of the guys there are the ones that came up with the 411 swap. I know Lextech is a member there, and he seems to be the go to guy for the details on the 411 swap. I don't know if I can help with the physical issue, but I would be willing to try. You can send me a PM if you like so we don't derail this thread too much. Quote:

Re: PO has me PO'd
Had a ahhh ha moment, found an nos hose for the fuel regulator, but it didnt fit right. So, after letting it snap back into its natural position, isaw that i had to clock the fuel regulator
Also, got the pcv barb installed on the intake (permatex), that system seems to be right, just have to bore a hole in the vc for the inlet air Thanks dale Getting ready to drill hole in firewall for new fast xfi wiring harness Map sensor seems to be mounted on plenum above fuel regulator, gotta wait to buy map sensor to figure out final mount. Depending on size of outlet on map, i have one more port along side of the port for regulator. Large port on the right rear of plenum will be used for brake booster Richard 2717....iwas wondering if you could duplicate the font on this decal, just wider and taller 20121124_092120 by jarosaj, on Flickr 20121124_091437 by jarosaj, on Flickr

Are you still doing powder coat...glad ya got back to working on your truck, still one of my favs. Dusty, enjoying the hell outta it. Finally figured out the lay of the engine harness. Map, air and h2o will go down the drivers side. TPS, IAC, wiil run down the other valve cover covers, should keep it symetrical in size and away from noise from power cables. Crank, tbd, as im not sure where that goes Maybe ill get to drill the hole this weekend, and start pulling cable Still have to buy ignition box, and fuel pump, filter, injectors, crank trigger, so i am getting close to the end of the spendy things Had plans to work on it over the holiday, but jeremy was sick for 7 days. What a condition that was for the wifey and i. Spent the whole time between the bathroom, bedroom, an laundry room. Oh well, joys of parenthood with a special son! Hes a tough man....

Re: PO has me PO'd
Well got a couple hours to play with the truck. Bored the hole in the firewall, differant kinda holesaw, had grit glued to it, instead of teeth. Worked well, without a lot of grab, saved my wrist....
Finally became the po that cut a hole in the oem firewall. Oh well, some time ya just got to break some eggs to make an omelette Layed out harness, seems like it will fit well, but will probably have to shorten some of the legs. Talked to Darin at M&H, said he would sell me the fabric loom matrl., will kinda fit the 70's look of the engine bay, as opposed to the 90's look of thesplit plastic loom Also, will move the factory engine harness over to the drivers side, keeping the power wires AWAY from the sensor leads One of these days, i will clean up the last of the farmers mud on the firewall. Dunno, kinda became attached to it. Does come off nicely with waterless hand soap ttp://www.flickr.com/photos/87678561@N08/8229406985/] 20121129_121119 by jarosaj, on Flickr url=http://www.flickr.com/photos/87678561@N08/8229407099/] 20121129_121204 by jarosaj, on Flickr

Re: PO has me PO'd
Thanks Cap., the family is all excited...my sons comment to me was, Dad, can you teach the girls how to rebuild cars like you taught me....
Just found out that i have to use a crank trigger, thats what the crank lead was for, oh well add that to the list Plans changed, all the leads will run down the left side of the motor. Its not too bulky Hey dale 99, do you know what the sensor does in post 1935, its the one to the left of the temp. unit, brass piece goes into the water passage. I dont have any wires going to it....

Re: PO has me PO'd
I didn't inquire about them, but I knew there had to be some reason those FAST cam-sync distributors were so much less than a MSD. I was kind of thinking they may need a crank trigger.

The brown one. That looks like it would be for the cold start injector... I think. Something maf cars had, not map. I think you could remove it.
