Maybe it should be its own thread though? I mean because if someone is later doing a search for "Steering Wheels Ideas" or some such, they would never find it in this thread. So put "Steering Wheel" in your thread title. BTW, "downsized repop"? Who makes one? I assume it's a down size of the Belair wheel you're talking about not a down size of a '67-'72 truck wheel, right? Last edited by Dan in Pasadena; 07-22-2009 at 10:10 AM. |

Re: How about some pics of 67-72 Trucks
dan,
i'll post up a thread later with the steering wheel pics. here is a link to the repop belair wheel pictured next to an 18" original. one thing i didn't like about the repop is the way they downsized the whole wheel to scale. being a custom car & bike builder, i'm very anal about lines & details & just didn't like the small center & horn ring. in person, it looked more like a toy to me. http://www.classicchevy.com/product....dept%5Fid=1714 check out the *note* on the link. $339 for a wheel listed as "fair" quality, not "show" quality ...

Looks like a very clean 50th anniversary truck. Nice to see it stayed in the family.

Re: How about some pics of 67-72 Trucks
That's a great looking truck! My grandpa's 68 that I had in high school had the same Mark IV under-dash A/C unit. I ended up getting rid of that A/C unit and now have a Vintage Air setup. That system blew so much colder than the new setup. If I were you I would NEVER get rid of that unit as I have never been able to find another one. If you do decide to get rid of it though, let me know! If you can find a model number or something else that I might be able to use to search for one, I sure would appreciate it.

Re: How about some pics of 67-72 Trucks
One of my favorite pics. I don't have any recent pics. Its all tore apart right now. I'm going two-tone red/white with a little twist to it (if it works out that is). I'll keep you guys updated as it comes along. I'm not the fastest worker!

Re: How about some pics of 67-72 Trucks
Here's mine, but it's supposed to be for my 12-year old son. We'll just have to see how much he helps, huh ??? Might have to make it a 4x4 to keep if from looking so dorky... That's what my son says anyway.
