Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread
so are you going with the light blue on the first rendering or a different shade of blue?

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread
Really nice job on the sub box, looks great. Are you planning on painting it the same as the body color? The light blue should look great. Can't wait to see it done.

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread
Nice work as always Mike!
I would add to what Keith was saying about matching silver paint. This is the case with many metallic colors. I have found it's very difficult to get them to match up even when painted from the same gallon. You really have to keep them mixed up since the metal wants to end up at the lower portion of the can. Your truck will look great no matter what color you choose! |

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread
If you have a skilled painter that has any experience at all they can repair metalic paint jobs by blending it. You shouldn't be able to tell where the repair is. That camaro obviously had the doors painted seperately. If you want silver then get silver. Some of the advice on here is purely given to truly help, but just because someone can post on this forum doesn't mean that silver cant be matched, or they are an expert on the topic. If that was the case the collision repair industry would only be putting out bad repairs that don't match. If a painter cant blend, or make a repair and have it not show, he should hang it up. Don't base your desicion on wether or not you think it should be repairable or not.
