Re: Kabwe's aka Bam's build
Kabwe - Really appreciate your ideas and knowledge on fabbing things together. I was struggling with the Autoloc (directionless) door latches with my 57 and found your ideas and pics. Saved myself a whole lot of trouble by doing it your way. What a great idea of flipping the assembly around to fit the door popper and power locks too into the rear 1/4- which is just wasted space anyway!
I think the Autoloc product is good, but they need to do an INSTALL and make a video for the 55-59 trucks, 'cause with the window track in the way, there isnt much room to put them in. Thanks again for your help and GENIUS!!!

Re: Kabwe's aka Bam's build
So after all the blocking, blocking and more blocking I have some color. It came out pretty nice.
Now its time to install the engine and trans and wire it up. I also got some goody's for the truck. I went with the Dakota Digital VHX 55-56 Belair gauges. I'm still chipping away little by little lately. Last edited by BAM55; 08-17-2017 at 12:47 PM. |

Re: Kabwe's aka Bam's build
Standard bearclaw latches. I had this installed like in the pic by PTC until I decided that I wanted to put my fuse box in the cab corner instead of under the dash (way to crowded under there with the pcm). So I re installed them the standard way.

Truck looks great. I'm glad to see you posting again as your thread was one of the first one's I found when I got my truck about six years ago, and missed it while you were gone.
