Re: What did you do with your truck today, Part 3
When I have changed the bed floor, I have noticed that the left rear springs fixation was not correctly installed. See photo.
I have cleaned the system and reinstalled it. But now, I have checked the repair manual and I think that it is necessary to replace the parts with new ones... I can find replacement part for the 3100, but not for the 3600. Are they the same ? Is it easy to replace them? Another challenge for me !

Yeah, I am thinking I will fix mine, or even leave it, what the heck, it's cut nice.

That'd be a good place to put the stealth turbo...

Roll-out party!
It moves under its own power, out of the garage for the first time in a year! Forgive me Moderators, but I'm so excited that I'm placing a duplicate thread in the forums!

Re: What did you do with your truck today, Part 3
I got a piece of metal cut and folded for a patch on the lower grille apron. I trail fit my radiator on the support too just to be sure that they matched.

Re: What did you do with your truck today, Part 3
MPC’s post got me thinking, even though the seat isn’t in I figured I should back the truck out and see how it looks in natural light. It was a nice evening so what the heck...

Awesome! Looks like a great pic for your TOTM entry. What kinda number is on the big block fender emblem?

Re: What did you do with your truck today, Part 3
got the coolant back in the truck. I need to tighten a few bolts before I drive it but its good in and out of the garage. I let it run and warm up.

Re: What did you do with your truck today, Part 3
You know how I will often "feel" the presence of the man who 50 or 60 years ago put a bolt in some old car I am working on when I remove it? Well today I felt ME. Today removing this orange paint from the hood of my truck that I painted over 40 years ago, Aug 1st 1977. When I think of the changes in my life since then, the relationships, children, jobs, you know that is all I was thinking about as I removed the PPG "Omaha Orange" that I bought at Township Auto parts for $32 thinking I bought "Competition orange" like they put on a Camaro only to open the can and see the orange that is on Cal Trans trucks! No kidding, the exact same color! I had no more money so that is what I used in the third paint job I ever did.
Got this half of the hood stripped, inside and out. Well, it will need a BUNCH of detail work with a disc. I also got the patch for the lower grille apron fit and finished ready to weld. Brian

Re: What did you do with your truck today, Part 3
Glad I could inspire you, but that's WAY nicer than mine, ha ha. Variety is what makes this hobby fascinating. I never cease to be amazed at how each individual makes their respective truck unique and different.

Stripped the paint from the other half of the hood today instead of sanding it all off like I did the first half. It did work out much better. Brian
