Your LS1 engines have nearly as many wires, they are a little neater when you get them though. I got a little messy when I did my initial fire up. I will get some pictures of it all when I get it all routed neatly. I promise it's just the original harness, engine harness and cluster harness you are seeing. |

Re: 1969 Short Wide
Oh yeah!!! That is looking awesome! I am glad I won't have as many wires since I'm running the old style FI. I know that when you're done, it will look as great as the rest of the truck.

Great job Mike, I have faith your wiring will turn out like the rest of the truck, nice and clean. Cool shirt BTW.

Re: 1969 Short Wide
Started figuring out my LS swap A/C fittings last night with Crash_OK's help. Thanks Mark.
It's a combination of the stock LS style fittings and the Vintage Air fittings that came with my kit. Welded them up this morning. |

Re: 1969 Short Wide
Nice job on those ac adapters Mike, it's little things like that I would be lost on I would be looking for somebody who already makes the adapters.

Thanks Jason. It's a slow process as you know. I'm trying to do it as "right" as I can, it's very time consuming. I have been working about 20-30 hours a week. Hard to tell by the progress pics.... |

Re: 1969 Short Wide
I mocked up my AC firewall cover and installed my adapters. Overall I think the routing will work out okay. I would like to get some nice extended length elbows to turn the hoses straight down but not sure I'm going to change it.
The suction side is a little close to the exhaust but I'm thinking a heat shield and or some heat shielding tape around the line. Notice I had to notch the frame a little to get the lower hose connector mounted. |

Re: 1969 Short Wide
A/C lines look good. I wish I would have used a bulk head connection something like yours at the firewall. It gives it a cleaner look. Every step you make is another step closer

Thanks Jason. digging your new avatar pic

I wish I had known more about my Vintage air kit when I bought it. It was a good deal at the time (2010) but it took a bunch of extra effort to install. The new generations look to be so much better designed. Plus you can route the lines however you want. With this one, I had no choice but to go right through the firewall. Plus the flimsy plastic bulkhead cover just wasn't gonna work so I made this one. I still need finish polishing it but I like it much better than the one that came with the kit. |
