Awesome news on the harness, I'm sure good things come to those who wait. Good luck finding a deal on the AC stuff. Summit carries all the Vintage Air stuff also if you have the part numbers you need. I'm sure someone out there can beat their price though.

Sounds like a pretty sweet deal on the ac kit. I have a block plate that came with my kit, not sure it would work? But you're welcome to it.

Re: Old Yeller's new heart-5.3/4l60 swap!

I have yet to see what I do and don't have, but thanks for the offers, guys, I may have to take you up on it. I have to look at Mike's build closely and see what he did with his brain and harness, as I'm apparently under the dash with mine now. Hrmrmm. We'll see.

Just let me know if you want that cover. I too have that fan cover. totally forgot about that. The harness was a little tricky the way I did mine. You saw the massive PCM mount I made too. It's strong enough to support 10 of them I think. Anyway, I'd be glad to help however I can. rock on bro

Re: Old Yeller's new heart-5.3/4l60 swap!

Thanks Mike, I've gotta lay the harness all out and see, I really don't want it in the cab, but I don't know where I'm at on length, etc. It'd be pimpalicious if I could use all the room in the fender between the door and the liner to hide the PCM. I just gotta get it together and see. Hrmrmrmrm.

I went ahead and displayed mine on the left inner fender for all to see. It works from the factory.

Re: Old Yeller's new heart-5.3/4l60 swap!

Ok, it's been a busy few days! Took the fam and their buddies to Schlitterbahn on Friday, I'm now a lovely shade of pink. (owwwww..)

Got up on Sat and hit the yards for some stock wiring and other small misc, got another 1 1/4" swaybar. Had to come home and nap (little sun hangover), got up and got crackin'! Stripped all the dash guts and cluster and wiring, got the core support wiring cleaned up and rewrapped. Got the DBW pedal converted and installed. Cleaned a lot of stuff, got the trans crossmember redrilled for a touch more DS clearance. Got all the bolts and mount bought for the trans, got them assembled and torqued together. Got the mounts and drops cleaned and installed.

Boppa came out Sunday and we started Fabbin' by default, since we still had the room. Got the battery box switched from right to left hand and with the help of Neighbor Jay, got a mount for the computer made up to stash it in the front of the DS Fender a'la Eric's Rusty truck. Yup, gonna run the main harness up the DS front and over as the General intended.

Ran out of welding gas (Dammit!) so have to go get that tonight, but then I have to finish the Puter mount. I'd love to do the Airbox mount, but I can't find the damn airbox!!!! Guess it'll have to wait. Here's your pics!

Re: Old Yeller's new heart-5.3/4l60 swap!

Dude! We pulled in at 10:06 and half the lot was full and we were the end of a 10 car line at the light! You have to get in to the park first (PITA) then go across the entire place to sign up for your time. We talked to someone who was on the 6th trip down it, she'd been in line outside since 8:30. The list was full for the day in 20 minutes. Anything you have to stand in a regulated line for there sucks ditchwater. Good slides, terrible execution. I was literally standing in line designing a simple proximity sensor and light system to SPEED THIS UP, FOR GOD'S SAKE! ON the plus side, they have a cool rapids river and a really good wave river that are interconnected, so you can go from one side of the park to the other and not get out, and you can walk right in. Lots of fun. 'Course we picked the hottest day of the year with no clouds to speak of, OY, scorchy! Hope your trip's going good!

PS- Thanks for the writeup on the computer mount, it helped a bunch. Put me down for a lens sticker, a decision has been made.

Re: Old Yeller's new heart-5.3/4l60 swap!

Thanks guys!

Kind of a weird night, but got the new front swaybar in and the Computer mount refabbed so it works better, new screws for the comp mounts, the welding bottles filled (!) and the new wheels on BBT. More to come.

Re: Old Yeller's new heart-5.3/4l60 swap!

Good start, short night. Got the battery box tuned up and all the holes drilled and final bolted in, now I can paint it. Got the Comp mount final clearanced and drilled and mounted into the truck, disassembled and painted, good to go. Got the last of the gas out of the tank, tank filled with water, hole sawed in the top of the tank, and top of the tank dollied flat. Got the pickup bucket shortened so it fits. Got the mount ring measured up and delivered to my buddy at work with the home CNC Plasma cutter, should have it back by Friday and get the tank solidified. Gotta go help Uncle Matt get the Backyard of his flip house dunged out tonight, then planning on bailing a touch early on Friday to go yarding for a ^&$^#$&% airbox, an s-10 speedo and other assorted crapola. Oughta be an exciting weekend. Sorry, no pics, was hauling too much Azz!

Re: Old Yeller's new heart-5.3/4l60 swap!

Thanks guys, I appreciate it, I'll try to improve on the pic front.

I was hoping to get my tank ring back today, lookin' like tomorrow. That's ok, his machine 'll do a lot better job than I would, and give me a stable gauge to work from. Damn I miss my Hurco, coulda knocked this whole thing out in about 20 min. Hope to knock some more out tonight.

Re: Old Yeller's new heart-5.3/4l60 swap!

Allright fellas, here we go-

Took off early Fri to go yarding, not a ^&%&$^#$ airbox to be had. Anywhere. At any price. Don't know how many I've tripped over. Nuthin. Got a few odds and ends, got the tank ring cut and in the tank, and bought another dirt bike. Yes, another one. Needed a spare for the old fat guy!

Saturday, had a rough start, but got my groove on. Drilled the head for the temp sensor, Boppa got the mount ring installed in the tank, stabbed the motor in and got the mounts fabbed and painted.

Sunday, got the mounts installed, rad mocked up, hoses mocked up, fuel line to motor mocked up, tank install mocked up, all looks good. I got the filter/regulator picked up too. Eric was kind enough to come over and lend his invaluable advice. Don't know what I'd do with out him.

Heeeere's some pics!

Ready for the stab.
