Re: 67 Shortwide Resto
Ohhh.
Well, I'm impressed you're doing this yourself, and this is how you learn. As bad as this looks, to me I'd rather deal with this than having my truck stuck in Paint Jail for two years (as I have one going on that long as we speak). Keep after it, it's going to look awesome when it's done.

Re: 67 Shortwide Resto
wow...you can drain all that clear back into the gun and do the rest of the truck. LOL
It will work out everyone has those kind of days. That's when you stop and go get a beer and regroup.

Re: 67 Shortwide Resto
what's he going to have to do? Take a picture of the column with the receipt taped to it (with a notary to prove he didn't forge the receipt)

Re: 67 Shortwide Resto
We did a little painting this weekend, we fixed the hood and reshot it along with painting the backside of the tailgate which we forgot an the backside of the glovebox and the ashtray. Here are a few pictures of the progress this weekend. I also got a Gantry this weekend and I think its going to make heavy lifting (Cabs, Boxes, Engines) a lot easier expecially when I get the 1300LB Vertical Electric Hoist put on it. Its was a real Mother to put together with just my Wife and I but we got it done. Here are a few pictures.

Re: 67 Shortwide Resto
Thanks, and Im looking forward to using the gantry to put the engine and the tranny, the cab and the bed on the truck. Im even trying to think of a way to use it to hang the doors on this truck. Ive been thinking about using padded cable straps to do the lifting so I can concentrate on getting the doors hung right and the spacing as good as I can get it. Lots of Ideas running around in my brain.

Re: 67 Shortwide Resto
Should be getting the engine any day now and I am getting the 700R4 ready to bolt to it. As soon as I get it I will drop it into the frame. I put in 2 Inch Lowering blocks in the Back and I have 3 inches of lowering in the front. I put in the new crossmember for the 700r4 and installed the motor mounts. As soon as I have that all in I am going to drop the cab on and start putting it together (Wiring, Interior, Sound proofing, Air Conditioning, Cruise Control, Steering Column, and a bunch of other goodies). Im really hoping I can have this thing rolling under its own power by the end of OCT. I will take some pictures when I get the engine on the frame.

Re: 67 Shortwide Resto
Ive been waiting for my Engine forever it seems and on Saturday the Machine Shop called me and told me the engine was done and ready to be picked up. Well the funny part of this is I have been up there at least once a week seeing where he's at and what progress is being done on the engine. He told me 2 weeks and its been a Month. So on the day he finally calls me to come pick up my Engine I was away from my Phone all day because of a HOUSE PROJECT me and my Wife was working on. Anyway I get to pick up my Engine today and start doing the final assembly. Ive decided that Im going to put a Vintage Air Conditioner in this truck so Im really glad we havent dropped the cab on it yet because I think it will be easier to install with it off the frame. Lots to do!!!
