Can't go wrong with either of those, but I would do the corvette blue with a white insert in the molding...

Re: 198Plus build by Alan's Classic
Alan, how are you going to fix the mild rust there? Just curious. Are you going to trim out the rust and patch in a new lip?

I think the holes since right in the middle and there little, maybe license plate. dents dont look too bad. Nothing a little filler and hammers can fix!

Re: 198Plus build by Alan's Classic
I'm a scrounger if ya'll haven't realized that yet. I started off by trying to find some metal here in town, good luck. Then remembered there is Ingrams truck bodys here in town. They didn't have any metal light enough for me, but said I could dig threw the dumpster. So I went dumpster diving and brought this home.
Worked on the LT bedside only, patching rust and pulling dents. I had a hard time getting the pull pins to stick. I was using an extension cord so I eliminated the cord and it worked better, but still had some trouble. Didn't really want to go up this high, but the metal was pretty thin from corrosion. I felt better by eliminating it.

*Thats for one side, He's pretty good. I dont think he is your caliber. But i would feel okay with his work. * *Since the truck is at Dad's, he has a 40 year fab/welder coming over to look at it. They want to replace the entire cab floor. Alan what are your thoughts on that?

If it smells like fish it's a dish.
If it smells like cologne leave it alone.

Thanks Dennis
Straightened the upper rail Here's a little tip. If you mud up to a joint put some tape over the joint and right on the edge to keep it out of the crack. Wiped the whole thing Sanded with air tools Then hand blocked with 80 Blocked with 180 tonight.
