Re: Post pics of your 47-59 Chevy trucks!
Here's a pic of my buddy's 54. He's an old-tymer who lives down the street. It has a 53 grill, Buick 400, F@rd 9. It has a lot of small inperfections that I'm try'n to help him out with. He's had 2 strokes and can't really do to much anymore.

Re: Post pics of your 47-59 Chevy trucks!
Here's my Buddy's chevy. He's a really cool kid. He did it all himself. Paint, bags, lambo doors, tilt bed and front end along with a crate 350. I know it might be a little to radical for some folks. But, there's a lot of hard work in it. His dad also owns a couple nice ones.

Re: Post pics of your 47-59 Chevy trucks!
NICE! That chop is just right. Did you section the hood too??? The flow of the windshield, down the hood and across the grille just looks right. How was it received at the show?? It is so subtle a lot of people would just glance and walk on.

Re: Post pics of your 47-59 Chevy trucks!
I have a '63, so I don't really belong here. But about 100-years ago, I learned how to drive on an old '47 early series that my dad had:
We spent a lot of time going to swap meets and junkyards and such looking for parts and accessories for that. It was a pretty weak 6-volt, so my dad always tried to park on an incline so I could push start it. It still had all the original cardboard headliner with the guys oil change notes penciled-in from the 40s/50s. Later, dad had this '57. When he sold it, it had some Chevy truck rally wheels and stuff on it. It had a 327 in it, but it looked absolutely stock under the hood. I always wondered what happened to it. The SS 454 was new, so that kind of gives you a time frame of when it was around. FWIW. Last edited by Revoh; 03-25-2009 at 03:31 PM. |

Re: Post pics of your 47-59 Chevy trucks!
I was given the go-ahead to bid on this '48 on ebay. I almost won it too. I was only out bid by 39K. It ended with 20 bidders, price tag at $40,100.00 and the reserve was not met.

That truck is refreshingly different. It took lots of talent to do the mods......

Re: Post pics of your 47-59 Chevy trucks!
I could of sworn I said not to be mean? Yes its obvious that it took a lot of mods into the build, so i guess i should like it??? I rarely chime in cause I see that some of you old boys are a little sensitive!! I guess my truck will have just as "Much Class" as yours, but in the end its what I like. Lighten up
Peace

Reread my post....I said nothing at all about your post. I just made my own comment about the truck.

Here's the Ebay details of the truck- I am listing this gorgeous Pick-up for a friend. This is the most amazing Street Rod that I have seen in person ever. It began life as a 1948 Chevy Pickup. There is a small section behind the cab that wasn't customized. Thats it. Every other square inch of this vehicle was cut, streched, redesigned, and/or shortened. There is no other vehicle like it available for sale that I have seen. I know it wasn't his intention to sell it ever. This will be offered once. If it's not sold it will go to Barrett-Jackson in a few months. The body has been chopped (6 inches) and the side windows raised to remove some of the bubble design of the roof. They have been completely reshaped and filled with power, tinted glass. The original V-Butt windshield has been replaced with a center cut of a curved 1978 Ford Pickup. The doors have been suicided and powered. The hood has months of bodywork to the inside and outside it has six inches out of it. The inside is as smooth as the top. The old headlights have been replaced with Mercedes-Benz lights. The bed was made by hand. Inside the bed is as gorgeous as the interior. There are wood floors in the cab and bed. The interior is all custom designed and all you see thats Yellow is Steel. The truck lays on the ground with the air out of the system. It has specially designed jacks that come with it to get it up if you blow a line. The bumpers have been recessed, this is a rarely seen mod. The pic of the inner fender showing the flames milled in is an example of the level of detail and thought put into this possible high-point show car. It comes with a transferrable NY registration. It needs a set of wheels to set it off. This is a new build and has no miles on it. It has beed road tested and will need an alignment and some odds and ends. I'm sure I will be adding more info as the auction progresses. The reserve is private and all bids to buy local will be considered.

Re: Post pics of your 47-59 Chevy trucks!
Yeah, it looks like a ton of work. I was just suprised that you liked it because its so on the other side of the spectrum from your bad a$$ ride. The details are definately cool and crisp just like one of those Riddler Award cars, but I guess Im just old fashion cause I just love that camouflage GMC. Nevertheless its some crazy work involved to get that custom.
